I groaned as I rolled over, God today was gonna suck. Despite my efforts to move away, small arms stayed locked around my waist, Sakura whining as I must have accidentally woke her up, great.
"Where are you going?" she mumbled, weakly fighting back as I sat up and removed her arms from me, "I'm gonna get cold."
"Family stuff." I grumbled, hoping to not wake Hinata up as well, "That I gotta be on time for."
She pouted, blinking open her eyes; this was definitely too early for her to be awake. Nonetheless, she sat up, "It's nothing scary right?"
"Wedding planning, you tell me." I shrugged; in my eyes, plenty scary.
She sighed, boosting herself up before planting a kiss on my forehead, "Good luck."
Whoa... uh... okay, I smiled, I guess that's just her way of showing she cares, "Thanks."
She promptly laid back down, snuggling up against Hinata now and falling asleep again in record time; Hinata and I could only dream. Said beauty also opened her eyes, giving me a humored smile, of course I shouldn't have expected her to sleep through the disturbance.
I slid out of the bed, walking around to her side and bending down to kiss her, now that Sakura was asleep and couldn't push me away, "You going to be alright?"
"What?" she looked down at the girl in her arms, "We can think of this as practice for Al." she frowned slightly, lifting a hand to the side of my face, "I'm more worried about you."
"I'll do my best to return alive." I joked, gently taking her hand and replacing it on the bed, "Hopefully before dinner."
"I'll be waiting." she hummed, already settling in to go back to sleep. That was until that weird ass cat jumped up onto the bed, padding over to Sakura and burying himself in her hair. We shared a look; neither of us really liked that thing. It was weird as hell. Some days it was here, some days it wasn't, and it'd just show up out of nowhere and plant itself near Sakura like some sort of guardian.
With a sigh, Hinata laid back down, already resigning herself to the cat's presence, and while I was a little more hesitant to leave her alone with it, I knew I had to get going.
Getting ready as quickly as I could, but not too quickly as I knew Mom would make some sort of snarky comment if I looked disheveled, I left the house, feeling a little alone without Akamaru with me, but he made it pretty clear that he wasn't getting up at this hour, and Mom said that the dogs would be handled another day anyways.
Despite my best efforts, though, Mom still looked displeased as I ran up the walkway to the house, fingers tapping on her crossed arms and eyes as disapproving as usual, "About time."
That was all the greeting I was apparently going to get as she turned back into the house, and I received a more proper one from Hana as she hugged me as soon as I entered, "You excited?"
I shot a look at Mom's back, trying to nonverbally communicate a 'what do you fucking think?' to her.
"Your sister asked you a question." Mom turned to face me, and I raised an unenthusiastic fist.
"Woo-hoo, yeah, wedding rituals." I must've had a death wish or something because I had no idea where that attitude came from, maybe lack of sleep.
Mom fittingly narrowed her eyes at me, and, most likely in an attempt to help me keep my head, Hana slung her arm around my shoulders and mimicked my motion, "Yeah, getting up super early!"
She stared at us for a moment before returning to her path to the other room with a hum, and I gave Hana a thankful look as she began pushing me to follow. I wonder if Hiashi was doing any of this kind of shit with Hinata? Somehow I couldn't quite picture it.
