Blake had decided not to tell Brielle about her dad coming with them. He would just let Brent show up and surprise her. He had rented a private plane to take them all down to Houston. With everyone in his family going and Brent all of the seats were taken. It was nice in a way knowing you were going to have a plane full of support in a road game.
Blake, Brielle, Taylor, and Marieka had somehow managed to beat his parents and Brent to the airport. They got on the plane and took their seats to wait for everyone else to get there.
Soon after Tommy and Gail had showed up. Blake was starting to panic wondering who he was going to say they were waiting on. Luckily for him by the time Gail and Tommy and gotten on and settled Brent had arrived.
“My dad is coming?” Brielle asked looking out the window and seeing her dad walk up the ladder and onto the plane.
“Surprise,” Blake smiled at her.
“Hi daddy,” Brielle smiled standing up and hugging her father.
“Hi princess,” Brent smiled at her taking the seat across the aisle from her.“I’m so glad you’re able to come,” Brielle smiled.
“Me too. Thanks again Blake,” Brent said directing his attention to Blake.
“Anytime,” Blake nodded as the plane started to take off.
They were halfway through the flight when Blake looked over seeing Brielle asleep. He caught Brent’s attention and motioned for him to meet him towards the back of the plane.
“You need to tell her,” Blake said quietly.
“I know. I will,” Brent nodded.
“Do it before we leave Houston. I can’t carry this around with me just waiting for the bomb to drop,” Blake sighed.
“I’m a little surprised you didn’t tell her,” Brent said.
“Not my place man,” Blake said shaking his head.
“I appreciate that. It should be me. I’ll talk to her after we get there,” Brent sighed.
Blake nodded. It bothered him that he wasn’t going to be able to be there for her when she got the news. He had to meet the team as soon as they landed and wouldn’t see Brielle again until after the game was over. He debated on whether or not to tell his mother or Marieka what was going on, but decided with Taylor knowing surely Brielle would be taken care of.
The two returned to their seats as they were starting to land in Houston.
“Everything okay?” Tommy asked his son.
“It’s fine dad,” Blake nodded.
He looked over at Brielle who was still sound asleep. She was exhausted and it was only going to get worse the further along she got in her pregnancy. Hopefully Blake would be able to convince her she needed to stay home when they got back to LA.
