“There’s my girl,” Gail smiled getting up from her seat as Blake and Brielle walked up to their table in the restaurant.
“Hi Gail,” Brielle smiled as Gail pulled her into a hug.
“Missed you too mom,” Blake smirked at her.
“Oh stop it,” Gail mock glared at him pulling him into a hug.
Blake pulled Brielle’s chair out for her as she sat down across from Gail and Blake took the seat next to her across from his father.
“Good to see you too Tommy,” Brielle smiled at him.
“You too Brielle,” Tommy smiled at her.
“I knew if I held out hope long enough this moment would happen,” Gail smiled looking back and forth between her son and Brielle.
Blake shot his mom an annoyed look as he turned to has dad and they started talking about basketball.
“He can be annoyed with me all he wants, it just proves I was right,” Gail whispered to Brielle. “So how are you doing?” She asked turning her attention to Brielle.
“Good. Still working with the Thunder and we’re in the middle of the series with the Spurs,” Brielle explained.
“I can’t believe he hasn’t gotten you in LA already,” Gail smiled at her.
“It’s coming,” Brielle nodded. “He can’t leave so I will have to. We need to be in the same place to really give us a shot,”
“I agree. Just don’t lose who you are in the process. His world can easily do that to someone,” Gail warned.
“I know. I won’t. I’m not moving out there to do nothing and live off Blake. I have a feeling that will be our next big issue to work through,” Brielle sighed.
“Well it would definitely make it easier for the two of you to spend time together if you traveled with him. Cross that bridge when you get there,” Gail said taking a drink of her water.
The four ordered dinner and made idle chit chat while eating. For Brielle it was like reuniting with an old friend and for Blake it was feeling like his family was even more complete having Brielle there with him. It was moments like this he wanted to shut the world out and just focus on the two of them.
“So where are you going for the offseason?” Tommy asked looking at both Blake and Brielle.
“Maybe Costa Rica if we go early in the break,” Blake said taking a drink of his water.
“Yeah I’m sure it’s gonna be packed down there if you wait too long,” Tommy agreed.
“There’s that and if I’m making the move to LA I need to be here to do it before the season gets going,” Brielle sighed.
“Moving already?” Tommy asked looking back at Blake.
