The rest of the day and into the night went fairly uneventful for Blake and Brielle considering what had transpired during the day. Brent left promising to try and make it to the game that next night in Houston. He told Blake before he left he would call him in the morning.

Gail and Tommy had left not too much longer after Brent had leaving just Taylor and Marieka.

“What a day,” Brielle sighed finally sitting down on the couch. She had helped clean up even after everyone had told her she needed to just go and sit down.

“You need to learn how to take it easy every once in a while,” Marieka said looking over at her from the love seat.

“Thank you,” Blake smiled at his sister in law. He had been saying the same thing all day.

“I know. It’s just not my thing,” Brielle smiled.

“It’s about to become your thing,” Blake said giving her a pointed look.

“I’m fine Blake. The baby and I are doing great,” Brielle said resting her hand on her belly.

“I know. I want it to stay that way,” Blake said sliding his hand on top of her’s. “I worry about you two I can’t help it,”

Marieka smiled watching the exchange between the two. Never in a million years could see ever see her brother in law engaged with a baby on the way. If she was being honest she could see the baby part, but not with someone he was seriously committed to. It just wasn’t his style.

“What are you staring at?” Taylor asked joining her on the love seat.

“Them. I’m so happy for the both of them, but at the same time it’s still weird seeing him like this,” Marieka whispered to her husband.

“Right? I thought for sure we would be having the first baby,” Taylor said in mock annoyance.

“Not even what I meant,” Marieka laughed. “Remember when the thought of a commitment scared him?”

“I do,” Taylor nodded. “She’s different though,”

“Ya’ll want to just stay here?” Blake asked breaking up the conversation Taylor and Marieka were having. “Lord knows there’s plenty of room,”

“Are you sure,” Marieka asked looking at Brielle.

“Please stay. It’s too late to drive back to Edmond,” Brielle smiled. Taylor and Marieka had planned to stay with Blake’s parents while they were in Oklahoma.

“Plus it will make it easier to fly out tomorrow. You two are always the last ones there,” Blake smirked at them.

“That’s his fault,” Marieka said pointing up at Taylor.

“Please. I’m not the one that takes an hour to get ready to get on a plane,” Taylor laughed.
