Thanksgiving

Blake quietly made his way out of bed and downstairs. For what Brielle had sent to LA she still pretty much had an entire house left in Oklahoma. They had gotten in late last night after the game in Detroit. Luckily the team seemed to be on a roll and had won two in a row going into Houston tomorrow night.

Brielle was exhausted. All the traveling was starting to catch up to her. She was 18 weeks tomorrow and Blake knew he needed to have the dreaded stay home conversation with her. He didn’t even want to think about how bad that was going to go over.

He had planned to put it off until their next doctor’s appointment, which Brielle had scheduled for the 16th. It was in between two home games and Blake would for sure be able to go with her.

Blake quietly made his way into the kitchen pulling the carton of orange juice out of the fridge. His mom had stocked Brielle’s kitchen with the basic essentials knowing the two were coming to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. They had decided to just have it at Brielle’s house and everyone that was coming would just bring food over.

Blake knew nothing about cooking a turkey and Gail insisted she take care of that along with the other big stuff so Brielle could get some rest. She, too, was worried about all the traveling her future daughter in law had been doing.

Blake settled on the couch and turned the TV on flipping back and forth between Sportscenter and Fox Sports 1.

He texted his brother to see what time he and Marieka were coming in. As of last night Gail wasn’t sure she just knew they would be there sometime today. He glanced at the time on his phone and smiled realizing his parents would be on their way in an hour or so.

He debated on whether or not to wake up Brielle. Deciding she would be mad at him if he didn’t, he made his way back upstairs and quietly opened the bedroom door. He smiled watching her sleep as he made his way over to the bed.

He gently sat down on the edge lightly brushing the hair off her face. She started to stir as she squinted up at him.

“What time is it?” She asked her voice laced with sleep.

“Almost ten. Mom and Dad will be here in hour,” Blake smiled at her.

“Okay,” She said laying back down and stretching.

“How did you sleep?” Blake asked watching as she threw the covers off and slipped out of bed.

“Like a rock,” Brielle smiled walking into the bathroom.

She did her business and turned the shower on. She slipped Blake’s basketball shorts down her legs and pulled her tank top over her head. She was getting ready to get under the warm spray when Blake walked up behind her his hands on her belly.

“Baby’s growing,” Blake smiled as he kissed her bare shoulder.

“I know. It’s kicking me like crazy,” Brielle sighed.

“I wanna feel,” Blake said moving his hands.
