The day was finally here and everything was working out perfectly. Brielle was out with Marieka just like Blake had asked for. Taylor and Gail were working on getting the area around the fountain decorated like he wanted. He would be going down there to help them as soon as he picked up John Legend from the airport. Blake was sitting on the bed staring at the beautiful platinum diamond ring in the velvet box. It was square cut with diamonds all the way around it and going down both sides. Brielle would tell him it was too much but to him it was perfect.
He closed the box sitting it on the dresser as he made his way to her closet and grabbing the dress Marieka had purchased for him for Brielle. It was beautiful. It was a one shoulder mermaid cut evening gown that was form fitting all the way down and flared at the bottom and of course was the Sooners beloved crimson color. She was going to look beautiful in it. Marieka had also purchased silver flats to go with it that Blake grabbed setting both items out on the bed.
Brielle would get her first note from him soon that would no doubt lead her back to her bedroom to get ready for the night. He could barely contain the excitement. He looked at the time on his phone and knew John would be landing at the airport soon. He got up and grabbing the velvet box, the keys to the SUV Brielle had let him drive as his own and made his way to the garage. It was almost showtime. Finally.
Brielle laughed at a story Marieka was telling her about. The girls had been out for most of the day shopping and having a late lunch. Brielle texted Gail asking her to join them for lunch, but she politely declined letting her know she already had plans. Marieka of course knew this, but let Brielle text her anyway.
Blake texted Marieka letting her know it was time and she fished out a small envelope out of her purse.
“So, I was instructed to give this to you,” Marieka smiled handing the envelope across the table to her.
“What’s this?” Brielle asked confused.
“I dunno,” Marieka shrugged taking a drink of her water. She did know. In fact she helped Blake come up with the ideas for the notes but there was no way she could tell her that.
Brielle opened the envelope and pulled out the little card smiling as she realized it was Blake’s handwriting.
Beautiful Brielle,
I hope you’re enjoying your girls day with Marieka. I hate to cut it short, but trust me I know there will be plenty more in the future. I need you to go home and change soon. The sun sets tonight at 6:48, that’s when we will meet. I can’t wait to see you.
Love,
Blake
“What’s this about?” Brielle asked looking up at Marieka.
“What does it say?” Marieka asked playing along.Brielle read it to her still trying to figure out what it all meant.
“Blake has clothes for you? Now that’s scary,” Marieka laughed. She looked at the time on her phone. “It’s 3:30 so you have a few hours. I want to know what he got for you to wear,” Marieka laughed as the girls stood up from their seats.
