Brielle fidgeted nervously with the little blanket she was covered up with. She was at her doctor's appointment and she was by herself. Blake had practice that morning and he was meeting with Doc after so they could get a game plan together of what do in case Brielle went into labor early. Her due date was still four months off, but God forbid something happened and she had the baby early they would in the middle of the playoffs. At least that's what the team would be planning for anyway.
She shifted slightly on the table as she tried to get comfortable. She felt like she was much further along than they were guessing she was. She was definitely a little bigger than she felt like she should be at this point. Sh tried dismissing it as the possibility that the little girl growing inside of her was just taking after her father in the height department, but something still felt off.
"Hello Brielle," The doctor smiled as she walked into the room.
"HI," Brielle smiled timidly.
"Blake away?" Dr. Langford asked seeing that Brielle was in her office alone.
"No. He should be here any minute though," Brielle sighed.
"Sorry I'm late," Blake said as he came through the door and looked over at Brielle. "Did I miss it?"
"No," Brielle smiled relieved. She just couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right.
"I just got in here. Good to see you," Dr. Langford said as she sat down at the computer.
"You too," Blake said grabbing Brielle's hand.
"Do you guys have any questions or concerns before we get started?" Dr. Langford asked turning to look at the two.
"I actually do. Is there any possibility my due date is a little off?" Brielle asked.
Blake sighed as he looked down at his feet. He had just spent the better part of the last hour figuring out what they were going to do should Blake have to miss part of the post season and now they were going to talk about the possibility that she could deliver sooner?
"What makes you think that?" Dr. Langford asked grabbing her measuring tape and standing up.
"I feel like I'm a little bigger at this point than I should be, and I don't think it has anything to do with him," Brielle said gesturing to Blake.
"I see what you mean," Dr. Langford nodded as she stretched the tape across Brielle's belly. "You are measuring a little big too. Well let's do the ultrasound and see if we can see anything that might tell us what's going on,"
"You ok?" Brielle asked seeing the worried expression on Blake's face.
"I'm fine," Blake nodded. "Just worried about my girls,"
Brielle smiled a small smile at him before turning to look at the big screen in front of her.
