Brielle rolled over and groaned. She was so sore all over. She was sure there wasn’t a room in Blake’s house they hadn’t done it in. She was such a sucker, but she couldn’t help it. If having those moments with him made him forget even for just a little bit about no longer being in the playoffs than she had done her job. She reached over to wrap her arm around him and noticed he wasn’t there.
Opening her eyes she saw a note laying on his pillow.
My love,
When you wake up come join me in the hot tub. I can imagine you need it this morning. I’ll be good I promise!
Blake
Brielle wrapped herself up in the comforter and padded down the stairs. Looking out one of Blake’s picture windows that faced the backyard she saw him sitting in the hot tub. He had his head back and he almost looked like he was asleep. She stood there just admiring him. Her thoughts drifted to what would happen after the offseason. How were they going to hold it together being so far apart?
She pulled herself out of her thoughts and was getting ready to finish her walk outside to join him when she noticed he was now looking right at her. She took in his red eyes and her heart broke for him. It all must’ve sank in by now. He smirked and winked at her as Brielle smiled back at him.
She made her way to the backdoor and opened it just enough to let herself out. She pulled the comforter tighter around her and stopped next to him at the edge of the hot tub.
“How long have you been up?” Brielle whispered breaking the comfortable silence.
“An hour,” Blake shrugged his voice a little raspy from the emotions he had been sorting out since he had been awake.
“Why didn’t you wake me up?” Brielle asked sitting down and dipping her feet into the warm water.
“You were sound asleep and I needed to deal with reality,” Blake said looking down into the water. “I wanted it so bad this year. We were so close,”
“I know you did love. You’re going to be a force next season,” Brielle offered.
“But it’s not now,” Blake sighed.
“Anything worth having is worth waiting for. Didn’t I teach you that?” Brielle smiled at him.
“You did. You were definitely worth the wait. A championship will be too,” Blake smiled a small smile at her.
Brielle slipped the comforter off her and slid fully into the water next to him. Blake wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into him. Brielle was sure she could hear him sniffle a couple times.
“Hey, what do you want to do today?” Brielle smiled a small smile turning to look at him.
“Absolutely nothing,” Blake said leaning down so his forehead rested against hers.
“Sounds good to me,” Brielle whispered as Blake’s lips crashed against hers.
