Blake sighed as he packed his bag. It was the end of March and the last long road trip he would be on before the babies were born. They still had no luck in determining the sex of the second baby, but they would both be here soon enough. He was dreading leaving Brielle. He had a gut feeling something would happen and he would miss it. He had voiced his concerns to his mother just a few days prior and she had flown out to California to be with Brielle while he was gone. Marieka was also planning to stay with them while Taylor traveled with Blake and the team.
"Need any help honey?" Gail asked walking into Blake's large closet and seeing the pained look on his face.
"Yeah help me not feel guilty about leaving her right now," Blake sighed.
"She knows its your job Blake. Didn't you say you talked about staying home and she told you to go?" Gail asked laying a hand on her son's back.
"Yeah she wants me to go. Do you know how long the flight from New York is? Or even Boston? If she goes into labor I'll miss it," Blake said as he went back to packing his bag.
"Honey don't think about it like that. She won't go into labor while you're gone," Gail smiled a sympathetic smile at him. "Go be with her, I can finish this,"
"Thanks mom," Blake smiled down at her as he kissed her cheek and walked out into the bedroom.
Brielle looked absolutely miserable, but to him she was never more beautiful than she was right then. She was laying on her side with her huge pregnancy pillow under her extremely swollen belly. She had all the covers piled under her feet and the fan was on full blast.
Blake gently slid into bed next to her and laid a hand on her belly. The babies were moving around a lot, something they had been doing lately and it kept Brielle up at night. Blake would wake up with her usually, unless he was getting ready for a game the next night or a long road trip like this one.
"Are you done packing?" Brielle asked opening her eyes as she felt Blake's touch.
"No mom took over," Blake smiled sheepishly at her. "I can still stay here,"
"No you can't. The team needs you," Brielle said cutting him off.
"You guys need me more," Blake said his tone turning serious. "Please don't have them without me,"
"I will do everything I can baby," Brielle smiled lightly.
"I will be back late Sunday night but if you need me before then please tell me," Blake said as one of the babies kicked his hand.
"I will," Brielle whispered placing her hand on top of his.
They had finally finished both nurseries the weekend before. They did one in pink and black for Braylee and another one in Clippers red and blue for the other baby. Blake was determined to have a boy and Brielle just went along with it since she picked out everything for Braylee's room. They even had the car seats installed in Brielle's car. Everything was where it needed to be, now all they had to do was get through this last east coast swing.
"I need to get going. Mom is here and Marieka will be here after she drops Taylor off at the airport. Do you need anything?" Blake asked as he looked at the time on his phone and slipped it back into his pocket.
"A kiss," Brielle smiled up at him.
"I think I can do that," Blake whispered before pressing his lips against her's.
"I'm gonna miss you," Brielle said tearing up as thy broke apart.
"Please don't cry baby," Blake whispered. "I'll be back in five days,"
