Blake's Turn

Game 3 wasn’t even close. The Spurs blew out the Thunder and by the time it was over Brielle just wanted to go home and climb in bed and pull the covers over her head. Instead she was sitting in the locker room her eyes glued to the TV as she waited for Blake to do his interview. Once that was over she was taking him to the airport.

They hadn’t really had much time to talk since last night. Brielle got up just in time to take care of what she needed to do before the game that night while Blake was hanging out with some of his former teammates from his OU days. The two had exchanged texts during the day and made eye contact a few times during the game but that had been the extent of their interaction.

Brielle’s head shot up as Ernie Johnson announced they would be back with Blake after the break. The camera panned to a shot of Blake standing off to the side getting ready for his interview, like she had been a couple nights prior.

Brielle sent Blake a quick text that simply said I love you while they were still at commercial. She wasn’t sure if it was the stress of the playoffs or their fighting that was taking such a toll on her. She didn’t have time to think about that though as the show came back on and there he was sitting in the same spot she had been when she was on the show.

“We’re joined now by Blake Griffin, power forward for the Los Angeles Clippers,” Kenny Smith announced.

“What’s up guys?” Blake smiled.

“How are you coping with not being on the court?” Charles asked him.

“I could ask you the same thing,” Blake smirked.

A round of ooooooohs and laughter came from the guys as Charles sat there with a smile on his face nodding.

“Alright fair enough. Was it your decision to travel to this series?” Charles asked.

“It was. I know Brielle would be supportive of me if she wasn’t working with the Thunder, so I feel like this is the least I could do to be supportive of her,” Blake explained.

“I’m so glad you mentioned Brielle, she’s beautiful,” Shaq smiled as they showed a still shot of Brielle on the set before.

“She is,” Blake agreed nodding.

“Anyone ever tell you she’s the better looking one in the relationship?” Charles smirked.

“No one has to tell me that, believe me I know,” Blake laughed.

“So any major plans for the offseason for you?” Ernie asked changing the subject.

“We’re gonna take some time away from everything and everyone for a little while then it’s back to preparing for the next season,” Blake answered.

“Any rings being exchanged this offseason?” Shaq pried smirking.

“If that were in the plans I wouldn’t be talking about it on national television,” Blake said giving him a pointed look.
