Marieka and Brielle were in the middle of a movie when Marieka’s ringing phone broke the comfortable silence.
“Shit it’s Gail,” Marieka said looking over at Brielle wide eyed. “I don’t think Taylor has talked to her since all of this broke,”
“Well answer it. She’s going to want to know what’s really going on,” Brielle said muting the TV.
“Hello,” Marieka said timidly waiting for what she knew was coming.
“What is going on Marieka? Blake isn’t answering his phone and Taylor just said he would call me back and hung up. Is what they’re saying about Blake true? I didn’t raise my son to act like that around women. I don’t...,”
“Gail. Stop. Calm down,” Marieka said interrupting her. “No it’s not true. Blake and Kayla broke up and well he’s moved on and she clearly has not,” Marieka calmly explained.
“When the boys get back you make sure and tell them they both need to call their mom and they both need to do it tonight or I will fly out to LA and embarrass the hell out of both of them,” Gail said before hanging up.
“Well that went better than I thought,” Marieka sighed hanging up her phone. “She’s pissed, but she’s more pissed no one has said anything to her,”
“Yeah I have missed calls and texts from her too,” Brielle said scanning her phone for the first time since she had been given her phone back. “I take it she knew nothing about what you and Taylor had planned?”
“No. We had good intentions,” Marieka said giving her an apologetic look.
“I know you did and for the most part I think we both really enjoyed it,” Brielle smirked.
“Okay I do NOT want to hear about it,” Marieka laughed.
“I know I know. Have you heard from Taylor since they left?”
“Just him telling me they made it to Jerry’s office. I guess the paparazzi are pretty thick over there right now. There was a lot of yelling while he was on the phone,” Marieka sighed resisting the urge to call her husband back to see how it was going.
“What do you think is going to happen? I guess it’s a good thing they aren’t playing now after the whole Donald Sterling thing this would be another nightmare of a distraction,” Brielle said her phone vibrating with a text from Blake.
We’re headed back. I’m assuming since I have my phone back you do too. I’ll see you soon.
“Yeah that whole thing was a huge mess. I think the media definitely played it out more than it needed to be. The guys were definitely bothered by it but it’s not like it was at the forefront of everyone’s mind,” Marieka answered as Brielle read the text from Blake.
“They’re on their way back. Hopefully with good news about this mess,” Brielle sighed.
