The twins are now 4, just about to start reception and Ollie is 9. Toby is 5. Toby started reception last year. Abbi has had another little boy who is now 2, Harvey. Charly had another little girl, Izzie. Everything has been going good for the last few years but this is the time I have dreaded the most.
The day started off pretty normal, the three girls did the school run. The school was only down the road so we all walked. "Today is the day girls" they both looked at me confused "the day" I sighed. "Dont worry you have us now" Abbi nudged. "Weve got a right little gang now" Charly admired the little pack of mini humans in front of us.
Training went by really fast "hey babe ready to go?" Owen met me out the front of the stadium "yeah how was the tactic session?" He shrugged "that bad?" I laughed "just too many players out on injury" he ruffled his hair. "Me and the boys are doing the school run and ice cream after" I nodded, majority of the time one of us did the morning run and the other did the after noon.
I did my usual afternoon routine of cleaning. Headphones in ignoring the world. Owen left, leaving me dancing round the house singing westlife at the top of my voice.
I started prepping dinner. I heard a loud crash and ran to the sound of the crash. I froze "surprise babygirl" he stood there proud, as my front door was lying on the floor in front of him. I screamed "what is wrong with you" he started to step towards me. Every step he took forward I stepped back.
"I'm not here to get you back, I'm here to give you a taste of your own medicine" I've seen that look before. "You owe me, my career" I ran to my phone but his footsteps followed me "too slow" he grabbed my phone and smashed it against the wall. I watched it shatter to pieces.
"Stop you dont have to do this" my voice was laced with fear. He looked stronger than ever and angrier than ever. "You dont deserve this" he pointed to the house "you dont even deserve to live anymore" he eyed up all the pictures on the walls "those boys are better off without you" he pointed to the picture of all of us when we won the league again.
He kept closing the space between us. But everytime he did I made the space, but he managed to back me against the wall. "See you can never run" he slammed his fists next to my head shaking the wall. "No need to be scared baby girl, I'm just going to show you how much you hurt me. I'm going to screw up your career as you screwed mine"
He grabbed my hair and pulled me away from the wall, I couldnt fight him he was too strong. He pushed me on the floor, I tried to crawl away but he stood on my hands. He let out a cackle. He pushed harded into my hand, moving his foot. I let out a Yelp "cant handle it? Weve only just started"
He kicked my side numerous times, I became numb to the pain. When he stopped, he pulled me up by my hair. The sound of a slap echoed through my ears, my face burned up. I held in all the tears I could. I tried to punch him but he just caught my fist and laughed. "Nice try baby girl"
"How long are you going to keep this act up? You're pathetic" "what act?" I screamed "the nice family orientated, the perfect girl act. You're tapped in the head. You've made all the lies up about me controlling you, hitting you. So I'll make your little lies the truth" he grabbed my collar.
He slammed me against the wall again and wrapped one hand round my throat. Pain shot across my body in every direction possible. I was facing the wall with all the family pictures on and all I could think about was my little boys. They're going to walk in any minute now and find their mother like this.
His grasp on my throat slowly got tighter, I took deeper breathes. "This is quite fun! Watching your breathe slowly get shorter" his laugh made my body shiver "if you stop now, you can walk away and no one will know" I pleaded "what would be the fun in that?" Prison really changed him for the worse.
My breathes were shorter, my chest was tight and I could feel my body getting weaker. He let go for a second and I took in all the air I could get. Tears escaped my eyes and he slapped my face again. "You dont get to cry! You deserve this" he spat. His grip got tighter and tighter.
"Why cant you just leave me alone" my voice was barely audible. "You've proven your point" I couldnt help but start to break down. His grip kept getting tighter and i started to panic.
His laugh echoed through the house, my body was weakening by the second. I felt faint. My head felt light, my eyesight went blurry. His words ran through my head "they're better off without you" my body stopped fighting.
The last thing I heard was "Night night baby girl" and everything went black
