The estate agent was lovely after she nearly fainted over Owen. "Mr and Mrs Farrell, come this way" she lead us to her desk. "Dont forget about me!" Oliver shouted frowning at the lady. "How could I forget about you? You are the cutest!" She knelt down to Oliver, "do you want a lollipop while Mummy and Daddy look at houses" I looked at Owen awkwardly, "urm" owen just smiled and whispered "you're more his mother than his own Mother is so dont worry" I didnt know if that was a compliment or a dig at Holly.
Oliver was quite happy with his lollipop while sitting on my lap. I kept zoning out, Owen did most the talking, the woman was more interested in Owen than me anyway. "How many bedrooms?" That got my attention. "Minimum 4" I turned to Owen "well a spare bedroom for visitors, bedrooms for the kids, our bedroom" I laughed off his logic, but whose going to clean this big house? No doubt well have a maid, I rolled my eyes with the amount of money he has just to throw away. The woman started flicking through houses that we could view, nothing was really eye catching.
Until one house "that one" I stopped the woman, whose name was Ellie, Owen put a hand on my thigh. "That is the one" he smiled at me. The house was set back from the road, it had a driveway and garage, the front of the house was open plan, big windows, 5 bedrooms, a big lounge, a large kitchen with an breakfast bar and a joint dining room which lead on to the back garden which was huge. "We can get a rugby post there" Owen laughed. "Whens the next available viewing?" I asked "urm let me check" the woman paused. "The next hour" me and Owen exchanged looks "can we go then please?" She nodded and gave us the post code. "Meet you there" she winked at Owen. I couldnt help but roll my eyes.
The car journey consisted of an excited Oliver, he kept asking if we are there yet. "Owen" I paused as he nodded "can we talk later, maybe go grab some food?" He nodded and gripped my thigh. "I think this is the house" he was just as excited as Oliver, but I couldnt help but feel guilty. "Its only 40 minutes away from the stadium too" I nodded at him, the guilt just kept eating my up. I needed to tell him.
We arrived at the house, oh my it was beautiful. I just stood there in awe. Oliver was already running round the garden and Owen was mirroring my reaction. Luckily, after seeing the asking price, we both had the money to buy this outright from selling both our houses in loughborough. The woman still fluttering her eyelashes at Owen, lead us in the house. The hallway, which had the stairs, lead to the open pan kitchen and the lounge. The lounge was huge, I'd already started to plan out where the couches and tv would go. The kitchen/dining area was even bigger. The black kitchen units complimented the grey walls. I could imagine cooking in the kitchen as the kids sat at the breakfast bar or the oak table.
The garden felt like it went on for ever, where the river ran just outside the back gate. Oliver had already pointed out a tree for a tree house. The garden had a shed, which was more like a studio flat. Owen claimed it as his man cave. We reached the bottom of the garden and we all looked up to the house. "I can definitely imagine us living here" Owen held my hand as I squeezed it "definitely" we shared a brief kiss "daddy is this our new home?" Oliver hasnt even seen upstairs yet "if you want it to be" oliver jumped up and down with excitement "yes" he screamed. "Let's go see upstairs first chicken" oliver sprinted back down the garden before I finished the sentence, leaving the woman giggling.
Upstairs matched the beauty of down stairs, it had two floors. We started on the middle floor, 3 double bedrooms and a bathroom. Then the top floor, one bedroom with an ensuite and a smaller bedroom. "This be ours and that be the nursery, then the kids on the middle floor" I muttered to myself "I agree, i think well take it" Owen stated to the woman, not even realising Owen heard me. "I'll sort it out in the office, come down tomorrow and well get the papers signed and sorted" we both shook her hand, obviously she held Owen's hand a little longer.
That's it were moving house, out of the busy city of London to a quiet country house with barely any neighbours. Luckily there was a few houses on the strip, so Oliver wouldn't be completely lonely. As we got back in the car, I smiled to myself admiring the house as we pulled away.
"Owen, I had a letter today" I gulped "yeah babe" he was way too happy about the house. "From Harry" I paused again, Owen's grip tightened on the steering wheel. "Is this why you pushed to look at houses?" He clenched his jaw, luckily Oliver had already fell asleep. "I'm angry you didnt tell me before this, but I think we found our dream home" i nodded, that was better than I thought. "You have to tell me straight away, otherwise we cant change things" I nodded again. "We found our forever home, all we need now is more kids and a dog and well be set for life" I laughed "soon, let's just get in there first" he nodded.
I pulled my phone out, texting the girls.
Guess whose told Owen... but also guess whose buying the most beautiful house! When weve settled you can come and visit. I've already picked out the room for the nursery!
For once, the girls didnt reply instantly. I wanted to share this moment with them too but I guess they've got their lives too, were all getting old.
