I got up, leaving Owen in bed. He was such a cuddler in his sleep, so yet again I struggled to get out of his grip. I showered washing away all the make up I had on. I kept replaying last night around in my head. He wants to be with me, not even for my money or for what I do, he wants to be with me for me. I quickly got ready, training kit on and hair slicked back in a pony tail and greeted the girls downstairs who were already making protein shakes. Luckily this time, I brought my own protein mix I didnt have to use Owen's.
"Did you have fun last night" the girls sniggered, my eyes widened. "Yeah he took me for a picnic. It was so sweet. I'll explain the rest in the car" the girls both burst out laughing. "We need all the details, that's not how the night ended" they both raised their eyebrows at me. my face started to burn up. this is going to be one long car journey. We threw everything into the car, this time Charly called shotgun. We put a party throwback playlist on. This would put us in the mood for a game.
"So, Owen?" Abbi popped her head between the middle of the front seats and Charly turned down the music. "Urm, he took me for a picnic in the middle of Twickenham, we talked a lot. He was being really cute and then he made it official" I stuttered the last bit as I couldnt even believe it was real in my own head. The girls screamed! "You're officially With Owen Farrell!" "I hear wedding bells, then a child! He is defintely the one for you!" The girls rambled everything which made my head hurt. Is he the one for me? I started to doubt myself already.
We got to the stadium, it was a lot smaller compared to the ones we played at. I forgot how small it was. We went to the changing room, greeted by the other girls moaning about how we were late. "Well we didnt have a coach plus London traffic was bad" I snapped at them which made them shut up instantly. The doubts i had about me and Owen made my mood take a turn for the worst.
The game went well, by half time we were winning. We defintely were on form this season. I checked my phone in the changing room.
Ray (brother): I forgot how amazing you were on the pitch. The kids are loving it and keep cheering for Auntie Amelia.
Me: well you'll have to come and watch more often!
Owen:
*picture of him and Oliver* he loves watching you more than he loves watching me! You're defintely his favourite.
Me: you two are adorable! I'll always be his favourite! You're stuck with me forever now!I walked back out on the pitch with the biggest smile on my face. The other side looked so annoyed. This was defintely going to be a rough game. I took a few tackles. One tackle took me a bit funny, I felt my ankle twist but I carried on with a little hobble to my step. The second half went so much faster than the first, but we were still winning. I got a few snide comments from the girls "how did we loose against these last season?" "Are we better or are they worse?" I laughed at their snide comments, trying to keep my professional captain face on.
We took the easy victory and left the stadium with the girls. We all laughed and giggled the way out of the stadium cheering our team on. I quickly rang Owen "hey I'm just coming out now" "yeah I'm by the car in area B" I walked towards the cars I froze in the spot. "Owen you best shut up now and not say another word." "Why?" "You'll see in literally 30 seconds" I put the phone down and stomped over to him. The girls were laughing behind me. Knowing what was about to happen.
"Amelia" "baby sister" Owen looked shocked and embarrassed. He was stood talking to my brother and his family. Oliver was running round with my brother's youngest child, Blake, until they both spotted me. "AMELIIIAAAA" "Auntie Ammee" Oliver and Blake ran to me, both hugging my legs. I picked them both up and continued to walk towards them. I hugged my brother, his wife and the kids. Owen pulled me in and kissed me on the head which I was a little embarrassed that he did that in front of my brother. I felt like I was 16 again bringing home my first boyfriend. "You are with Owen Farrell?" My brother looked shocked "he was telling me about his great rugby girlfriend, I didnt expect it to be you!" "What's that supposed to mean?" He shrugged it off "nothing" he mumbled. I knew exactly what he meant, I wasnt capable of getting someone like Owen, but I'll let it slide this time.
"Were staying about half an hour away from here, why dont you all come round and well have a proper catch up?" We all nodded and cheered. My brother gave me the post code. I took the girls and Owen took a reluctant Oliver in his car. Even though Oliver moaned that he wanted to come in my car, he did have his own car seat in my car so he couldnt use that excuse. But Owen didn't want to drive on his own.
We all drived to the cottage, which was beautiful. It was set back in a field, surrounded by trees. So cosy, I dreamed of owning a house like this. Let's hope we dont stay long, otherwise my brother may start tormenting Owen.
