Weeks went by I kept getting letters. I was getting so fed up with them. I didnt bother reading the ones with hand written envelopes. Owen went back to playing with saracens so spent a lot of time in London. I went back to the Loughborough Lightening team. I missed these girls so much. Obviously Abbi and Charly played with me.

"Have you spoke to Owen" I shook my head as Abbi wrapped her arm round my shoulder. My heart sank and a wave of sadness came over me. First game of the season against Saracens ladies. Typical in the saracens ground. I was hoping Owen be here. I text him:
Hey you,
I'm in your stadium Haha! Wish me luck!
Your soon not be best friend xx

I used his words hoping he would text me back. My phone beeped. My heart skip a beat. Hoping it was Owen.
Unknown number;

your one and only H x

I felt sick! I threw my phone in the locker and headed out to the pitch. I suppose the anger will help me perform better. The thought of playing on the same pitch as Owen and kicking through the same posts as Owen gave me butterflies. Of course I was the better player. I chuckled to myself imaging Owen competing against me.

The game kicked off, my head wasnt really in it. I kept singing "getcha head in the game" from High school musical. My head definitely wasnt in the game. Abbi threw me the ball and I ran like I've never ran before. The defence line of the saracens could not catch me up. I slammed the ball just behind the try line. We did our usual celebrations but I couldn't even get that excited about that. Of course an easy conversion, 1 step 2 step 3 step kick. Straight down the middle of the posts. It was like I was getting bored of rugby.

I thought about the world cup and how Owen was there. Was he here today? Imagine if he was? Beat his own womens team. The team that supposedly is the top of the league. The game went by and it was an easy win if I'm honest. Abbi got her usual 3 tries, Charly got her usual injuries. Just seemed like an ordinary game nothing exciting. But even ordinary games get me a little excited. What is happening to me? Has he ruined rugby for me?

We all boarded the coach and headed back. Still no text from Owen maybe hes just training hard. I checked his social media which was normally quite active. He has uploaded quite a bit;
Picture of him and Oliver. I miss that kid so much. He even stopped coming to training.
Picture of him and some girl laughing. My stomach churned, who was she? I showed Abbi and Charly. They both made big "O" faces. "Ring him right now and ask him for an explanation"

I rang him. The phone kept ringing and ringing. The girls looked so hopeful. It kept ringing which felt like an eternity. "You've reached the voicemail of Owen, leave a message after the tone" "leave a message" Charly shouted in a whispered voice.
"Urm hi it's me. I haven't heard much from you. Just checking in. Hope you and Oliver are ok. I just beat Saracens in the first game of the season. I'll ring you later" I stuttered the whole way through it.

I just missed him so much. I just want him to steal my grapes or be all goofy. I miss his laugh. He is my person. My best friend. He could be the one. His words ran through my head "well get through this together" how he lied to my face. How could he say all that and not mean it? Did I expect anything less from him? But could you blame him for running while he could?

My phone beeped, I hate this bloody phone.

Hey honey,
Nice win, I'll be waiting at home for you. Post match celebrations.

Love H xx

I started breaking down. Harry wouldn't leave me alone. The girls all stared at my phone. "Your staying with me" Abbi suggested. Charlys house was too close to mine.

I've lost my best friend and now I'm loosing my house. How can my whole life be turned upside down by two men again?
