A few months went by since the little trip in Surrey. My brother has since made a group chat for him, Nicola, me Charly, Abbi and Owen. Mainly it was the girls and Nicola talking organising plans for the rest of us. "Ready to go?" Owen nudged me. "Never" he lead me into his car. I was not ready for this. Since the trip in Surrey, Owen had been spending more time in loughborough than London. He only went down there for training and then came back up.
We headed to my home town, about an hour or so away. Luckily, nicola text me the post code. We pulled up outside the house. I did not want to be here. I didnt know how to react, do I be happy or do I be defensive? My mind started to go into over drive. Owen was being more supportive than ever. He opened the car door and held his hand out. "You've got this babygirl" I nodded. Last time I came here I was with Harry and that didnt end well either.
We walked up to the door, I rang the doorbell. I couldnt look up off the floor and Owen squeezed my hand. "AMELLIA" I was pulled in to the biggest hug. I froze. "Dad how nice to see you" I put my most fake voice on. "Come in, I'll put the kettle on. Theres someone-" "mum" my body tensed up. "Amelia" "what are you doing here?" I spat, she was taken back by my tone. "Well I kinda live here" she chuckled.
My dad brought in tea. "We all miss you dearly, you have to tell us everything" I rolled my eyes, i did miss them but the anger consumed my body. "Well I still play rugby, I coach kids, I'm with Owen, im happy my life is good at the moment" I wasnt lying. We sat and talked for a while which was nice, but I still couldnt get over how they both turned their backs on me. They haven't spoke to me in 5 years and now they think it's going to be all happy families. Me and Owen explained how we formally met, we spoke about Oliver and mainly rugby. But my parents sat there with the biggest smile on their face, they genuinely looked happy for me. They told me they were proud of me, which they havent done since I was in school.
"Amelia, we have some news" my dad placed his hand on my mothers thigh. "We decided to give it another go, now theres less stress with your brothers" my twin brothers were always a handful always in trouble with the law but we got used to it over the years. It got to a point where I wasnt shocked if the police turned up at the house anymore. "Good for you guys" i smiled. "We wasnt expecting that response" I shrugged, theres not much else I could say really. "You know your sister is missing you a lot" Owen held my hand. "She can call me, heres my number" I wrote down my number on a piece of paper. No doubt I'll be bombarded with texts soon, since I made it very clear to my brother that he did not share my number with anyone.
"Ive got training soon, so I best go" they hugged me and Owen. "Owen you look after her!" He nodded "I've already had the talk from Ray" they both chuckled. "Please come see us soon Amelia, we would love to meet Oliver as well" I nodded, hoping it's going to be years before I see them again.
"That wasnt as bad as I thought, baby steps" Owen just kept trying to be supported but I looked out the window. Yes it wasnt as bad as I thought but I still felt sick to my stomach. We drove back to mine to pick up training gear. For our last training of the season. Obviously Owen came to our training. His season was over too.
The training session went fast and Owen spent a lot of time with me and Lauren perfecting our kicking. Lauren was coming up good and strong, she was giving me a run for my money. The training ended and coach did his usual end of season speech but went off topic "Well we have someone who will be leaving us this season. Joining the enemy" the coach talked causing a lot of whispering during the team. "They will be joining saracens, with a better wage and a better pitch. Going in as the captain" the coach silenced, Owen stepped forward. "Amelia, you will be joining saracens next season" I was shocked. Owen smiled at me I didnt know how to react. I could feel my anger consume my body, I did not want to leave this team.
We all left training. The girls came back to mine with Owen. "How did you get me in saracens and why?" "Saracens have wanted you for ages I just persuaded them to put an offer in for you" "why? I'm happy where I am" this started to turn into an argument. "You can move in with me, we dont have to be apart too long and we can start a proper life together" I couldnt help but aw at his motive. The girls encouraged me to go. Their relationships with Ben and Ellis was progressing anyway.
Looks like I'm moving to London.
