"How is my son's condition right now?" Jisu asked him when entering the office. "Have a seat, miss." The doctor pointed to the seat in front of the desk.

"Your son's condition is quite risky," the man began, making Jisu's eyes widen. "What's that supposed to mean?" she impeded.

"The wounds are pretty severe and overall we have discovered a lot of scars on his body." Jisu dropped back into her seat. "We have discovered something when running the examination as well," the doctor continued. He rummaged through his drawer and revealed a stack of documents. "It seems the patient's heart is failing." She raised her head. "What?"

"We recommend taking the bypass surgery."

He shoved the documents toward her. Jisu took a breath in, sliding the document towards herself. "How much will this and the treatment for my son's wounds be?" she asked. This wouldn't be cheap whatsoever. "Everything is written on this paper," the doctor answered, and handed her the document. Jisu took the paper from the man's hands, the color disappearing from her face. "I-It's this much?" she stammered, holding the paper in her trembling hands. "Please," she shook her head, "We cannot afford this."

"Then we cannot assure your son's surviving."

Jisu sighed, rubbing a hand over her temples, then looking over to her son, still laying on the bed. He's asleep. The knocks on the door brought her back to reality as she turned her face to the door. It took her quite a while to find the strength in her legs to stand up, even stumbling. Staying up all night without closing a single eye had made Jisu drained but she still managed to function a bit.

"Has he woken up yet?" Felix asked Jisu when she opened the door for him. She shot a glance at her son still laying in the hospital bed. She shook her head, "No, not yet." Felix nodded.

"How long have you been here?" he looked at the tired Jisu in front of him. She had deep, dark circles around her eyes and she seemed to lose balance every now and then. Jisu had to think for a while, then it came to her again. "I haven't left," she answered. Felix shot her a glance, grabbing her by her shoulders. "Jisu, you should take a rest," he insisted.

"It's already afternoon. Jaeyong is still at home. He must miss you as well." Felix reminded her of her other son and she sighed. He was right, but she couldn't bear to leave Jisung here alone. "Then who will stay here with Jisung?"

"Don't worry I will stay here with him for a while, I promise," Felix reassured her. Jisu nodded. "All right, then I shall go back now. Please call me if there is anything or if you need me," she said before grabbing her coat from the armrest of the couch. "I will, Jisu, don't worry too much about this." He guided her to the door, holding it open for her. She took a deep breath before stepping outside. "Well, then goodbye, for now, Felix."

"Take rest!" He waved at her while watching Jisu disappear out of sight.

*Last night*

"I would like to put the surgery of room number 319 on my name, please." Minho showed his card to the woman behind the counter who displayed a disinterested look. "Only family and significant others are allowed to pay for the patient's surgery," she answered in a monotone voice. Minho rolled his eyes. He didn't have time for this bullshit. He slammed his card on the counter in front of him, making the woman flinch in her seat. "My name is Lee Minho, do you understand?" He stared her in the eye, almost piercing through them and it seemed to work cause she had to gulp. "I told you to put the bills on my name." he demanded and slid the card towards her which she grabbed with trembling hands. "R-right away s-sir."

"Now that was not so hard now was it?" he clicked his tongue while raising an eyebrow.

*Present time*

The door of the room opened again. This time a nurse appeared. Felix noticed her and stood up. "Is Ms. Han still here?" she asked whilst skipping through the papers on her clipboard. "She left a few hours ago. May I ask what happened?" The nurse smiled. "We have some good news," she announced. "Somebody paid for the patient's surgery." Felix widened his eyes, almost glimmering in hope. "Really?" he almost yelled, jumping up from the seat. The nurse nodded. "Could you maybe contact Ms. Han so we can furtherly discuss this?" Felix nodded his head eagerly. "Right away, ma'am. Thank you so much!" He bowed politely and the nurse giggled. "No need to thank us, it's our duty to help people." That was the last thing she said before leaving the room.

Felix rummaged through his bag until his hand landed on a device he would guess could be his phone. He dialed the number as fast as he could, tapping his feet on the ground, waiting eagerly for someone to pick up. The voice on the other line answered. "Jisu, we have good news!"

Jisu took a deep breath, clutching onto her purse. "You do understand that there might be a risk of the operation failing?" the surgeon reminded her. Of course, she thought about it but if there was still a chance of him surviving. Why not take that chance? "We'll take it. We'll take it," she stated, earning a nod from the doctor. "We will start the operation tonight, but we advise your son to take rest here for a few days after the surgery." Jisu nodded and bowed. "Thank you, doctor, I greatly appreciate it."

"It is our job ma'am."
