Jisung tapped his feet on the ground, leaning against the stoplight, shifting in his place. The male chewed his lip as he scanned the streets. He was waiting since he and Minho were supposed to have a date, but as usual, Minho was running late. That thought plastered a smile on his face. Minho was always late but never forgot him. So Minho. Though the nice thoughts roamed around his head, Jisung couldn't help but think back to the unsettling feeling the other's words left.
Jisung had gotten asked to collect some left-over papers from the teachers who suddenly had to leave. The male being who he was, of course, agreed. If he could help others out, he would. Jisung had his back turned around, crouching down for a bottom shelf to organize it. Outside it already got darker, so seeing things in the office also became a struggle.
A chuckle behind Jisung echoed through the abandoned hall, making him turn around. What was that? Last time he checked, he was the only one left here. Did a teacher come back? "What?" Jisung questioned himself. "At this hour?" The boy gulped, awaiting who would jump out of the dark. These stupid, non-working lights didn't help ease the creepy vibe, either.
The dim light shone from the back, outlining a person's silhouette. "Who is there?" Jisung gathered the courage to call out for the strange person in the distance. To his even worse luck, they walked closer, not saying anything. Jisung crawled back, collecting himself, standing up thanks to the bookshelf behind him. "Can I help you with anything?" He managed not to stutter but it was visible he was very uncomfortable. Hands in pocket and all, trying his best to avoid looking. Minjun found that very amusing. He put his hand on top of him which made Jisung's breath hitch. The male already sensed something bad about this. "Better keep your eyes on the lookout, princess," Minjun whispered in the other's ear. Jisung irked under Minjun's grasp as his breath brushed against his skin. The boy hissed from the pain searching through his spine as the other forced him against the shelf. It took a while for the strength to return back in his legs and Jisung to move. He released a breath he didn't realize he was holding once the other had disappeared. Jisung failed to wipe the image of a grinning Minjun saying those words. What scared him more was the fact he didn't know what they meant.
Jisung shook it off and returned to waiting for the light to turn green. His mood bettered in an instant as he saw Minho waving at him from across the road. The timer went off, indicating Jisung and a few people waiting, to walk now. However, while Jisung was crossing the street, a car came speeding straight for him.
Minho's heart dropped at the scene unfolding and sped to Jisung. A few people gasped, rushing out of the way. Jisung realized the car too late from the earplugs he had in and froze, watching the vehicle approach him at lightning speed. Minho jumped in front of him, shoving Jisung with all his force while he shut his eyes tightly.
The car crashed into Minho, sending him flying away, the shattering of gasps, screams, and a bone-chilling hit to the concrete sounded through the area. In that moment, everything slowed down, people's voices became a blur, the world slowly fading away right before Jisung's eyes. "Minho!" he screamed out to him, rushing towards the body spread across the road. The place began crowding as Jisung dropped to his knees, reaching out for his lover's cold hand, breath hovering as he examined his body. "Call an ambulance! Somebody! Please!" he cried out, holding Minho close in his arms, cradling back and forth. "Minho, hold on, you are going to be fine. You are going to be fine.."
