"Where is he?" Hyunjin came rushing to Jisung, who already stood outside in the hallway. Jisung took a shaky breath in, wiping his hand over his eyes. "He is in there.." Chan's cheeks were stained as well, but he nodded at Jisung, pushing Hyunjin further to the room.
"Minho!" Chan made his way to the male's side, reaching out for him as new tears escaped down his face. Hyunjin pressed his lips together, not wanting to lose it in front of him and make himself vulnerable. But his body gave him away as his lip quivered, letting out muffled cries in forms of gasps, being as soundless as possible. "Minho, what are you doing? You have to wake up!" Chan shook him at his arm as if expecting a spontaneous reaction from the other that laid so still in the bed, continuing even though in his mind he knew it wouldn't work.
The three sat a while together, with Chan and Hyunjin drained from the overwhelming situation. Hyunjin stares out in front of him, down at Minho. "Can you leave us alone for a bit?" he whispers, out of breath and numb from crying. Chan fixed himself up, wiping his sleeve across his cheek, a hoarse hum leaving his mouth. He knew what Hyunjin meant, and he understood the other needed some time alone to sort things out. "Sure," the older answered him and shuffled to stand up from his seat. Before he went, he held his hand on Hyunjin's shoulder. "Hyunjin, don't beat yourself too much."
Hyunjin watched the other walk across the room until he heard the door close beside him. His head turned toward the male who laid there, completely motionless.
He has never seen him so quiet, lifeless. It was as if he wasn't even there with him. A bitter smile tugged at the corner of Hyunjin's mouth and he extended his arm out to the older, laying it on top of his friend's. He squeezed him slightly as if to reassure Minho, maybe more to reassure himself as well and hold back his tears. "Don't worry, everything is going to be fine." Hyunjin said. "I know it will." he went on. He looked up to take a breath and smiled back down at Minho. "You know, you left so suddenly. It really, really worried me." A tear slid down his face. He grew accustomed to the feeling. He wheezed softly. "Who's going to dance with me now?" Then another tear broke out, Hyunjin didn't bother to hide it, for he couldn't hold in the broken anymore. "You know, maybe it's because I'm not good at showing it, but I care about you, Minho. I care, a lot. I always have. You are my dearest friend... I couldn't handle losing you. So please, don't leave me alone now. Can you promise?" Hyunjin sobbed, and shook his head, clutching to the fabric of Minho's clothes tighter. "I don't want to lose my best friend."
Hyunjin got up after he, too, grabbed enough courage to leave. "Goodbye," he bid his farewell to his friend and turned back to walk away.
Chan and Jisung sat down on the bench in the hall. "Do you want me to stay here?" Chan asked. They have been discussing about this for the past hour and Chan figured Jisung might need some support right now, so he offered to stay with him. "It's better not to," Jisung answered. "I rather be alone right now." The other nodded, understanding. "Okay, just know you can call me whenever you need me, I'll come over." Chan replied to which Jisung thanked him. "Thank you, Chan."
"How was it?" Chan asked immediately once Hyunjin appeared out of the room. He shook. "I needed to say a few words. Let's just go home."
Hyunjin gave Jisung a sympathetic look, indicating him to stay strong while Chan caressed his shoulder in hopes that gave him a sort of comfort.
Chan pulled him in for a hug. He didn't want to leave Jisung in this state either but he thought maybe it's for the best to give him the space Jisung asked for. And if Jisung needed him, he would be right there. Chan just hoped the other could handle this all alone. "Just call me, yeah?" he reminded him once again. "I will. I just have to be with Minho right now.."
