It has been a few weeks, and the situation turned out like this. All the girls were following Minho around. They were everywhere, and to say the least, it drove Minho crazy. "Minho!" A girl at the library approached him. She stood in front of him, brushing a strand of hair out of her face. "Let's go out for coffee sometime."
Minho turned his head back to the shelf, tracing his hand over the row of books, and landing on the title he searched for. "Not interested."
"Minho, could I have your number?" a girl asked, appearing from a corner, holding out her phone. He exhaled silently, letting his head fall back slightly whilst rolling his eyes, and walked further. "No."
It's Monday noon after the last bell of the day rang, signaling everyone to occupy the halls. They were filled with people walking to their lockers and preparing to go home. Minho pressed his back against his locker, busy holding a conversation with his friends. "Minho." Another girl suddenly approached him, the group of her friends standing behind her, suppressed giggles leaving their lips while hiding it behind their hands.
Chan gave him a questioning look with his eyes, Minho catching it, while he pointed his head towards the group of girls.
"Would you like to go out for lunch with me?" Minho groaned internally, shutting his eyes, and turned around to face the girls. "Can't you all just leave me alone?!" he yelled. The girls stiffened. Minho felt Chan's hand on his shoulder. "Don't lose your cool like this, people are watching," he whispered. Minho threw his friend's hand off. "Do you think I care if people are watching?!" he spat at him. Hyunjin got next to Chan patting his back. "I-I'm sorry Minho, I just wanted to ask you out," the girl stuttered in return. All eyes turned on them, silently watching the scene unfold.
Jisung, Felix and Seungmin just turned around the corner of their classroom, finding everyone staring at the group of people standing by the lockers. "What is happening?" Felix whispered to his friends.
Minho let out a coff. "And you think someone would be interested in you?" He laughed, the coldness then returning in his eyes like he had switched personalities. "Please, don't make me laugh."
The girl clenched her hand around the screen of her phone, teeth biting on the inside of her lip, trying to hold her tears in. The entire school shouldn't see her like that. Her friend beside her noticed her shaking and pulled her back. "Let's just leave, Li," she whispered to the girl, tugging her along to the nearest bathroom. The hallway voided of whispers, and Minho sent a glare at everyone watching. "What are you all looking at?" he snarled, shutting his locker with a bang and storming off.
"Minho!" Chan called, following after him. He looked back at his friends. "Just leave me alone." Minho insisted, finding the nearest door to the rooftop to get some fresh oxygen. He slammed the door behind him, Hyunjin and Chan standing before it. The Australian lowered his head. Hyunjin noticed. He changed his expression to a grin, putting an arm around Chan's neck. "Hey, he isn't mad at you okay? He just needs some time for himself."
"Am I doing something wrong, Hyunjin?" he asked, looking up at his friend. "Stop frowning." Hyunjin brushed over Chan's forehead, and tilted his face to the side. "Wanna hang out at my house?" the taller asked. No matter how much Chan tried to suppress it 'til his cheeks hurt, he couldn't hold back the smile that appeared on his face and agreed. "Sure, let's go."
Seungmin and Felix sat down at the cafeteria with Jisung sitting next to them. "What is up with Minho lately?" Seungmin asked, finally bringing up the conversation while placing his plate down on the table, sitting down with the rest. Jisung shrugged. Felix pushed back his frown, and replaced it with a smile. "Why don't we just ignore this negativity?" he stated. "Not everyone likes gossip and drama like you."
Seungmin gave him a look from across the table, making a nervous Felix laugh elicit from his lips. "Hey, calm down, Minnie," Felix gulped, but it was too late. Before they knew it Felix was getting attacked with tickles again. Jisung sighed dramatically. "You are making me feel like such a third wheel." He fake-wiped his tears away. Seungmin and Felix exchanged a glance, a mischievous grin appearing on their face. "You are next!" they yelled at the same time and began attacking the poor Jisung, who was currently dying of laughter. "Okay, stop, stop-" he begged. "Never!" they chuckled in unison, the entire cafeteria filled with their laughter as they continued torturing their friend.
Jisung peered out of the window. It was already night, but he felt the urge to go outside. He himself didn't know why but he figured he just needed a breather, maybe it was just too suffocating for him here, so rose from his covers, and reached on the shelf for his clothes, grabbing his coat along before closing his door behind him. He brushed past the branches until the open field greeted him once again, setting foot on the grounds. Out of the darkness, Jisung could make up a silhouette. Minho rested his forehead on his knees. He ruffled his hair, letting out a shout, and let himself fall to the ground.
"Hey."
Minho sat up once he heard a voice. A person was standing next to him. It took Minho a while to realize that the boy was no one other than Jisung. He sighed, looking away from Jisung's gaze. "Why are you here?" he mumbled, low in energy to give a snarky response. The thing that took Jisung aback was how Minho didn't seem annoyed at all. Instead, he looked the complete opposite. He looked sad, torn even, about something. Jisung sighed to himself. "Why am I so nice towards people?" he thought internally, after contemplating.
Jisung crouched down, taking place next to Minho, which, to Minho's turn, took him by surprise.
"Everything alright?"
"If I was alright I wouldn't be here in the first place," Minho thought to himself. "Why do you want to know?" the other retorted bluntly. Jisung closed his eyes, slowly exhaling, gathering all his inner patientce. "Because I care about people." Jisung answered while fidgetting with the hem of his shirt. Minho went quiet after that. "You feel alone huh?" Jisung suddenly said, breaking the silence that was built up between them. Minho looked at him instantly. Jisung smiled. He knew he had hit a string. "I can see it." he finished his sentence.
"I don't see why I should tell you." Minho cut off, averting himself from Jisung again. "I wasn't forcing you to tell me anything though," Jisung replied, staring up at the sky.
