Minho took a deep breath in, halting. He gripped the side of the bed and exhaled. "Don't think too much." Minho told himself, though the idea he had still terrified him. It took all the strength in his muscles he had left, trying to lift himself. His arm trembled before he fell back into the mattress again. He huffed, holding back the frustrated tears that pricked in his eyes. "Get up!" he yelled. He grabbed the frame once more. A rush of nerves shot through his body.

His breath shook once he looked and saw how far he had come. He sat. He finally sat up. All on his own. Minho hesitantly lifted his leg to the ground. His heartbeat only caused his body to tremble more. He put his other leg on the floor, too. Minho gulped, letting out his nerves with another exhalation, and slid his body down the bedframe until he stood next to it, holding the frame as tight as he could from fear.

This is something he shouldn't do. That's what his mind told him, that's what everyone around him told him. Yet he did. Because something in himself needed to. Slowly, he let his hand go. His heart began to beat faster and faster, pulsating in his chest. Minho couldn't feel the ground under him. Then he dropped to his knees as he let the other hand go, too. Minho hissed, not from the pain, but out of frustration. People rushed in.

"Don't!" They stopped him. "You should rest!" A nurse helped him up to his bed. His friends watched him from behind the group of doctors and nurses. "No, you don't understand." he called, his voice giving out. "I want to walk again."

His eyes shut and his body fell back. "The patient fainted!" The nurse called for help.

"Call Jisung," Chan said as he got backed off. "Call Jisung!" he yelled to Hyunjin, who then ran out of the room with a phone in his hand, dialing his number.

"Give this to him, please," Felix said and pushed a bouquet into Jisung's hands. Jisung looked down at the flowers, a glint of happiness sparkling in his eyes again. Felix smiled, watching his friend admire the bouquet he and Seungmin picked. "Tell him it's from us and we hope he'll feel a little better watching them."

"Thanks, Lix. I'll tell him." The moment got interrupted when Jisung's phone rang and he reached for his pocket. "Hello?" he spoke, waiting for a response. "Hyunjin?" Felix frowned as Jisung's expression turned into a feared one. "What?!" Jisung's voice rose and he stormed out of the room, down the stairs. Felix followed behind him. "Ji, what's going on?" he called after his friend who seemed to pay no attention to the other or Seungmin giving him a perplexed glance as he came running through the room. Then everything paused and Jisung stopped at the door. "Minho fainted!"

He groaned, attempting to open his eyes which all of a sudden felt like they weighed a ton. Jisung stroked over his head, waiting until Minho fully opened his eyes, shooting him a worried glance. He reached him a glass of water placed on the stand. "Welcome back," Jisung said and watched Minho gulp the water down. "Thank you." He spoke after, catching his breath. "From who are those?" Minho asked upon noticing the abundant bouquet of flowers placed in the vase closest to the sunlight. "From Felix and Seungmin. They said they hoped it would make you feel better." Jisung smiled, thinking of the care his friends showed towards his boyfriend. His smile disappeared, however. "Why did you do it? Stand up. You know you're in recovery for a reason, right?" Minho adverted himself from the gaze of his lover and answered. "I wanted to. Why? Are you disappointed?"

"What? You can't differentiate between me being disappointed and me being worried? You worried me with your stubborn action."

"Yet," Jisung halted.

"Yet you made me proud at the same time."

Jisung began to tear up. "You decided you wanted to keep going and made the first move. You wanted to achieve that." Minho reached for his Love's face, wiping away the tears.

"I am so damn scared, Jisung. The thought of me not being able to do anything anymore scared me, of not being able to be there for every one of you, of thinking that everything I did was for nothing, everything I fought for. I am still so terrified of failing, of losing everything."

"I can't live like this anymore, Jisung. I can't accept it." The plead in his Love's eyes made Jisung clench. "I know, you won't." Jisung held the other's hands to his face. "I will never forgive myself for putting you in this situation."

Minho grabbed Jisung's wrist, making him look at him. "Don't ever say something like that ever again." His glare pierced into him. "I would take the hit all over again. As long as you are safe. How could I have let that happen to you?"

"Stop blaming yourself for my decision."

Jisung buried himself into Minho. "But I don't want it to be at the expense of you."

"I thought you said that if all hope is lost, you'd hope for me."

"You heard me?"

"I'm not giving up." Minho continued, the silence to the other's question speaking for itself. Then the door opened, revealing Minho's doctor. He scanned over his clipboard and clicked his pen. "We took a few photos of your back and we have news. After today's incident, we checked thoroughly. It seems the damage of your injury is slowly subsiding. If your spine keeps recovering at this pace, you may qualify for physiotherapy. In other words," the doctor flipped over a page.

"There is a chance for you to walk again."

Minho froze.

Jisung put a hand over his mouth, smiling as his lip quivered. He flew Minho around his neck, clutching onto him. "There is hope, after all, Love!" Minho wrapped his arms around Jisung. His mouth opened as his eyes reddened again, tears almost rolling down.

"Thank you." He managed to bring out. "I really thank you."

The man smiled. "It is our job to help, sir." He bowed and then left.

"I'm getting out of here," Minho said, trying to convince himself of that fact. He cupped Jisung's face, connecting their heads. He felt so relieved. It's like a part of his fear got torn down, dissipating into nothing after it had controlled his mind. Jisung mirrored his action. "You are, Love. You really are.."
