Jisu waited outside her hands clasped together, heart beating in her throat. Even her hands were sweating. She continued to pace around the hall. Jisung was now inside for the surgery. A bypass surgery. The doctors told her that if one thing went wrong, it could take his life. That was not a reassuring thought.
"May I please know who the person is that paid for my son's surgery?"
"That is classified information, ma'am. I am afraid we can not tell you."
Some footsteps echoed through the hall, approaching closer. "No, you may tell her," Minho appeared from the corner of the room. Jisu followed the boy with her eyes until he stood in front of her. "Very well," the man lowered his head a bit as Minho stood next to him. "This is Lee Minho, he is the one who paid for your son." Jisu widened her eyes minimally, trying not to show how shocked she was. This kid seemed as if he came from an Elite family, judging from the way he dressed. Minho showed a smile and bowed to be polite. She snapped out of her thoughts and bowed back. "My name is Minho. It is nice to meet you once again, ma'am."
"Again?" Jisu thought to herself. Then it hit her. She nodded her head slowly recalling the event. This kid brought Jisung back once. Jisu shifted slightly, finally getting it. "So this is the boy Jisung gets flustered over."
The sky outside turned a navy blue, a crescent moon high up in the hazy clouds yet Minho still hadn't gone home. He couldn't and he didn't want to. He didn't want to leave Jisung again, first, he had to be reassured that he would make it. A voice behind him got Minho out of his daze.
"Lee Minho, right?" Jisu pointed toward the boy. He turned around and greeted her. "Yes ma'am that's me." Jisu shook her head, completely lost for words.
"Is it really true?" she asked, standing before the boy. "It was nothing but the least I could do," Minho answered. "Yeah, the least I could do after I fucked up so bad.." he continued the sentence in his head.
"Why did you do this for us?" she uttered in disbelief. Minho smiled, lowering his head, and remaining. "Because I don't want you to lose your son." It still felt surreal to Jisu. "Let me pay you back at least," she stated but Minho stopped her midway. "No, I owe this for something bad I did."
The things he had done were unacceptable. That's why he felt like he owed them this. To pay really was the least he could do for Minho himself. He paused, opening his mouth to say something before closing it again. "Can you please do me a favor?" Jisu looked up at him and nodded. "Whatever you need, son."
"Can you tell him I'm sorry when he wakes up?"
Jisu held her breath as she entered. Her son was still laying down, his chest slowly moving up and down. "How did it go?" she asked the surgeon next to her. The woman slid off her mask and smiled. "The surgery is successful, ma'am. There is no need to worry now, a few days rest and he is good to go again," she said while writing down some details further on her clipboard. Jisu clasped a hand to her mouth, happy tears rolling down her cheek. "He made it.."
"Seungmin!" Felix ran into the room, footsteps thumping down on the wooden floor, completely out of breath, finding support on his knees and one hand clutched onto the side of the doorway, not bothering to take a breath before talking again. "He made it! Jisung made it!"
Seungmin turned his head toward him in a whip. "Then what are we waiting for?" he yelled back and grabbed his boyfriend's hand, pulling him with him.
"Minnie, slow down!" Felix panted while trying to catch up with Seungmin.
