Minho shot his locker close. "You kissed someone else?!" he raised his voice, shooting him a glare. Hyunjin brushed through his hair, stressing. "She pushed herself onto me! I swear I didn't do anything myself!"
Hyunjin was looking through the shelves, trying to find the book he so desperately needed for his following exam. "Come on, where the hell is it?" he muttered under his breath, getting slightly annoyed. Suddenly, a girl approached him. Hyunjin immediately noticed she was older than him. "Hey there, Hyunjin," she spoke, fluttering her eyelashes. "What are you here for?" she asked. The male tried to hide irritation and took a deep inward breath. "Just studying for an exam, you?" he answered shortly. The girl's lips curved into a smirk, causing Hyunjin to frown. He did not like the looks of this. She approached him slowly and trapped him with her arms against the shelf. "I think you should study me instead," she whispered and licked her lip before closing in. Hyunjin tried the push her off with his hands but that didn't improve the sight any better, it only looked like he made out with her as well.
Hyunjin's eyes widened when he saw a familiar someone. He pushed the girl off of him abruptly and collected himself. "This isn't what it looks like," he wanted to say that but his mouth didn't move. "I'm sorry for ruining your moment, but I have to go through." Chan said and bumped into him while entering the office next to him. Hyunjin stumbled a bit due to the daze he was in.
When Chan left the room, Hyunjin was in a haste to talk to him. "Chan- " Hyunjin tried hopelessly but got interrupted. "It's fine. I'll leave." And with that Chan walked off. Hyunjin took this as his answer he didn't want to talk about it. He didn't even spare him one glance after. Hyunjin grabbed his hair furiously and groaned. "Look what you've done!" he yelled at her, causing her to flinch. He didn't want her? She bit her nail nervously. "You have no shame!" he snarled and with that he stormed off. Hyunjin had already had to fight the urge of slapping her. She should consider herself lucky.
"Hwang Hyunjin, are you stupid? You are ruining your chances here!" Minho could swear he felt the headache rising. What is he? A marriage counselor? These two people weren't even a couple yet! "I just didn't know what to do at that moment!" Hyunjin rubbed his face. How could he be so stupid? Minho let out a stressed sigh. "Come on, let's talk." He gestured towards the empty lounge as Hyunjin followed him inside.
"I fucked up." Hyunjin leaned his head back, shutting his eyes close. "I keep fucking up," he added between gritted teeth. Minho tried to not lash out again and took a few seconds to calm down. He sat up and folded his hands together. "First I want to verify,"
Hyunjin looked back at the other with a serious expression. "You do like Chan, right? This is not playing." Minho stared right into his eyes, wanting an honest answer. "My feelings are not a joke," he answered him. The other already thought so and nodded his head. An ironic grin appeared on Hyunjin's face. "It's clear he doesn't want to talk to me.."
"I don't even know how to cope with myself. I should have just pushed her away, but I didn't. And for that, I hurt him. Am I really stupid for holding on? For so many years, I tried to get noticed by him, and now I don't want to ruin everything, but I feel like I already did." Hyunjin refused to look up from the ground and pursed his lips together. Minho swallowed. "Shit, have I been too harsh on him this time?" he asked himself. Hyunjin shifted his weight forward, clasping his hands together. "Am I stupid for holding on to him like this?" his voice faded away.
"If you would've talked to me, you would've known the answers."
Hyunjin and Minho both looked up in reflex, suddenly seeing Chan lean against the door frame. The sweat almost broke down on Hyunjin's forehead. "How long have you been standing there?" he asked, his voice slightly shaky. "Long enough to hear you." he replied, his arms crossed. Minho helped himself off the couch and shot Hyunjin a glance. "I'll leave you two alone." He patted the taller's shoulder and left.
Chan and Hyunjin sat across from each other on the couch in silence. "For how long?" Chan suddenly spoke, breaking the thick, suffocating tension between them. Hyunjin gave him a questioning expression which made Chan sigh momentarily. "For how long have you liked me?" he repeated his question.
"For how long have we known each other?" Hyunjin tilted his head. He must have lost count long ago. The older quirked up his brows, his eyes would pop out of their sockets if he opened them more widely. "God, Hyunjin, why have you never told me?" he uttered in disbelief. "You had your eyes on someone else already and I was your friend. There was no way for me I could just tell you." Hyunjin answered.
"And why did you not tell me you felt the same?" Now it was his turn to ask the other the questions. "Afraid of getting rejected," Chan cut it short but the shame in his tone didn't stay hidden. "Look," Chan spoke again before another silence erupted between them. "I'm not sure what love is, and probably sure you will get sick of me cause I am not the best person to be around at all, but I want you to show me what love is. Can you?"
Hyunjin leaned in as soon as he saw how Chan hesitated to say something again. He grabbed the other's chin, positioning him. Chan couldn't comprehend what was happening as he just tensed. But after a moment, he relaxed just leaning into his crush's touch. The other licked his lips with a smirk, shifting back to his original position. "How was that for an answer? Enough?"
"Yeah, enough." Chan caressed the back of his neck, flustered. "Let's take things slow from now on," Hyunjin suggested as he noticed the other's expression that looked like that of a lost puppy. The older's cheeks remained a scarlet color as he agreed. "Sure, let's take things slow," he answered, avoiding the other's playful gaze. Of course, Hyunjin didn't let the opportunity slide of getting to flirt. "You look cute like that, you know?"
