It has been a week. A full, consecutive week of Jisung hoping, praying Minho would return to his side. Everything would be just like it was. Jisung never left him since his hospitalization. He couldn't. He didn't want to let go of Minho. What if he wouldn't return if he did? His friends just watched from the sidelines, dejected. There was not a moment where Jisung didn't blame himself for this.

"It should have been me."

"It should be no one's place. Han Jisung, can you please go home?"

"Minnie is right, Ji. You can't go on like this.."

Jisung gazed out in front of him, landing on the man he loved so dearly again. "I can't leave him." He stated. "Who will watch out for him? What if he wakes up, and no one is there?" Jisung's mind wandered to every possible situation, and the emotions overwhelmed him again. "Hey, Ji," Felix put a hand on his shoulder, watching his friend starting to panic. "Breathe. No one is going to leave him. If you want, me or Seungmin can watch over him, or maybe Chan and Hyunjin. We are just saying that you should go home to your family for a while. They are worried, you know." he explained. "You should take care of yourself too. I am sure Minho would have wanted that."

"I'm scared, Lix. What will happen to him?"

"I know, Ji, but you can't prevent the future. Whatever is bound to happen will happen. There is not much you can do about that."

"I'm sure when he wakes up you'll be the first he wants to see, even if you aren't here for a while," Seungmin affirmed, causing Jisung to turn to him. "Are you sure?" he hesitated but Seungmin nodded. "It's a winning bet." A sigh escaped Jisung's mouth as looked down at his hands, fumbling with them.

"Can one of you look over Minho, then?" Jisung finally asked. The idea of leaving Minho behind frightened him but maybe it was for the best to take a short break and return home like his friends told him to. He didn't want to but somehow the other two convinced him it'd still be safe without him around.

"I will stay and call Chan and Hyunjin over," Felix volunteered and motioned to Seungmin next to him. "Minnie can take you home."

"Please call me if something happens to him." Jisung's eyes looked over at him, begging his friend, which Felix obeyed to with a heavy heart. Having to bear watching his best friend like this without him being able to do anything weighed heavy for Felix just as it did for Seungmin. He would do anything to support Jisung. "Sure, Ji, I'll tell you of any updates."

"Can I say goodbye first?" The boy glanced at Seungmin. "Of course, you can." Seungmin distanced himself so Jisung could walk over to Minho. Jisung gave him a silent thank you.

He seated himself on the bed, his hand moving up to caress Minho's cheek. He looked so peaceful. Jisung brushed away parts of his hair while admiring the man under him. "I will be back soon."

"Goodbye."

"I love you." His vision turned blurry as he lowered to kiss his Love's head. "Please, be okay."

Jisung lifted himself up, feeling a bit weak to stand on his own, grasping the edge of the hospital bed when he felt he would collapse. He took in a deep breath, letting go. "I'm ready," he told Seungmin and his friend came over to him. "Let's go." Hidden in Seungmin's look, laid sympathy as he wrapped an arm around Jisung for him to support on. "Time to get you home." They bid their goodbye's to Felix, who stayed behind, before disappearing. "Try to rest, Ji," Felix called behind him.

Seungmin and Jisung stood before the house, Seungmin raising his hand to ring the doorbell. The moment the door opened, Jisung got greeted by his mother who brought him in for a hug. "Thank goodness, you're home!" she brought out with a relieved sigh. "Never make me worry like that ever again!" Jisu scolded once she released him from her hold.

"Thank you for bringing him back, Seungmin," she thanked her son's friend after having realized the expression on her son's face. She eyed the boy as if to say 'What is going on with him?' but Seungmin could only shrug. He figured Jisung should tell her himself. "No problem." he responded and continued. "Take good care of yourself, Ji. We will handle the rest."

He pulled Jisung in for one last hug. "Everything is going to be fine, trust us."

Seungmin waved, saying a 'Goodbye' and left Jisung alone with his mother, who stood motionless in the doorway for a second.

"Ji, do you want to talk about it?" she voiced with concern, following her son indoors. "Not now, mom." His words drowned out. "I'm tired."

Jisung proceeded to slouch up the stairs, tears starting to form just having to think of explaining everything to his mom. Those words still hurt, the whole event still hurt like an open wound to him. And right now, he couldn't manage to take on everything again. "I understand," Jisu assured him. "You need to rest. I'll bring up your meal when it's done."

"Thanks, mom." And with that, he disappeared up the stairs, locking himself in his darkened room with his stuff scattered all around it. Once his back hit the mattress, there was only one thing, it was empty. There was no Lee Minho to fill that empty spot. And that's all Jisung wished for, that one day he would lay next to him. "Just one wish. Please.." Jisung prayed. "I miss him. Take me instead."

"I need him to live.."

What he didn't know was that Jisu was out the corridor overhearing what he just said. "Jisung," she broke the deafening silence that followed after Jisung's words. "Please, tell me what's going on." she begged him once she entered the room, making her way to his bed to kneel next to it. "What did you mean with that? What happened to him?" The questions overwhelmed Jisung like a wave trying to drown him. He struggled to breathe once more, choking on his answer. "He won't wake up. Why won't he wake up, mom?"

He let himself fall into his mom's embrace once his tears paralyzed him again, clutching tightly to her. His mom's eyes widened, catching her son. "Ji, what is this? Where is he?"

"In the hospital.." Jisung's voice gave out. There followed no reply after, silence evaporating the room, but Jisung was too out of it to let that get to him. "I just can't live without him, mom!" he cried out in a sudden outburst. The fear killed him from the inside and messed with him. It's too much to keep it all to himself. No matter how much Jisung tried to get rid of that destructive feeling, it didn't leave. "He shouldn't have saved me. I'm not worth it."

"Don't say that, Jisung." Jisu gritted her teeth, fighting the impulse to also cry. "Minho sacrificed himself because he cares just as much about you as you care for him. He couldn't live without you either. He has his own reason, too. But if you say this now, his sacrifice would be all for nothing. No one is to blame in this situation." A tear rolled down her cheek. "All we can do now is pray he will recover."

Jisu's eyes glistened as she looked at the ceiling. She trusted Minho. He has the character of a fighter. That can't be extinguished. "And I know he will, Jisung. He wouldn't leave you. I know he won't. He loves you too much for that, you know?"

She wiped away her son's tears, smiling at him. "He will come back to us." Jisung's breath hitched as he looked into his mother's eyes while she reached out for his hand. "I know he will," she repeated.
