The nightlife was pretty bustling. There were loads of couples going out and trying the street food from the stalls even when it's almost midnight. Among the crowd, Chan and Hyunjin walked hand in hand through the pathway leading up to the entrance of the Ferris wheel ride that caught their attention from the distance. Chan inspected their surroundings, his eyes filled with amazement every time they landed on yet another decoration or ride. "Everything is so beautiful," he gasped, the decor light reflecting in his eyes, making them glisten in the darkness. The male in front of him caught Hyunjin's attention more as he kept staring at him while answering without paying much attention. "It is." Chan turned to look at him with a playful furrow. "You're not even looking," he said. "I am," Hyunjin stated, and leaned in closer. "Just at something different."
"In all my years of knowing you.." Chan mumbled under his breath, letting a laugh escape from the other's mouth. "Knowing a part of me," Hyunjin added with a wink.
Luckily for Chan, the ride finally descended before them so he could quickly avoid this flirting. It was too much. And Hyunjin never stopped. But maybe there was still a tiny part inside of Chan that liked it. Oh, who are we fooling? He liked a tiny lot of it.
The ride made a rumbling noise before slowly going up. A feeling of nostalgia returned for the two while they stared out into the darkness illuminated by lights. As a kid you used to go on these sorts of rides with your parents. Chan remembered the first time he went on a Ferris wheel, he couldn't look down or move. He just sat like a statue with his eyes tightly shut while his mother giggled and took him next to her. The good old times. Chan cleared his throat once they had reached the top which tumbled the chariot lightly. "We should y'know do this more often."
"Is this you asking me on a date?" Hyunjin gazed at him which made the other quite nervous as he hackled. "N-no, maybe. I mean, if you want to." He internally scolded himself in his mind for being such a mess meanwhile Hyunjin just chuckled, this show was rare and priceless. "We should." he confirmed as they both looked out at the wide night sky view.
The ride back on the bus stayed quiet but that was fine for the two of them. Words weren't necessary right now in this peaceful moment. The wheels bumped over the road repeatedly, it felt like a cradle to Chan as he was already struggling to keep his eyes open, his head nodding over from time to time. A fond smile covered Hyunjin's face when he looked to his side, there he laid, a sleepy Chan, leaning against his shoulder. He gave in to the desire to caress the male and stopped only when they arrived back at the station near Chan's place. Chan sluggishly opened his eyes, squinting from the headlight that shone above him. "Did I fall asleep?" his voice sounded hoarse. Hyunjin nodded. "You did but you looked very peaceful."
"Sorry for making you my pillow.." Chan scratched the back of his head while they walked back to his house. "Make me your pillow any time, I don't mind." Hyunjin smiled. It made Chan feel some type of way, in a good context as he ended up smiling as well, enjoying every second of swinging the other's hand between them.
"Well, guess this is where we'll have to part." Chan eyed his house and Hyunjin stepped one step closer, placing a kiss on top of the male's head. "Good night," Hyunjin whispered before walking back. "Yeah, g-good night," Chan answered back, feeling his heart almost thump somewhere up his throat.
He slid against his wall, holding his hands close to his chest. His legs had given out, literally. That stupid smile never left his face and the man was pretty much a mess the rest of the night. Chan tried but failed to get to sleep, even after he laid down under his soft covers. How could he go back to sleep after that?
