"GIVEN RECENT EVENTS, SOME STUDENTS HAVE EXPRESSED concern that I am not allowing you to have a say in the decisions that affect your future. And I agree. If you are expected to abide by this school's policies, it's only fair that you have a voice in how those rules are made." Alaric said. "So, I am forming an honor council. One vampire, one witch, and one werewolf, each elected by their peers. Along with our school counselor Emma, whose vote will represent the younger students. Now, I have to go off-campus. In the meantime, I expect you to make good decisions and to vote wisely. That's all. You're dismissed."

Hope and Katelyn stand up. "What do you think you and Landon are categorized under?" Hope asked her sister.

"I don't know. Let's go find out." She said and the two went to go find Alaric. They made their way outside towards where his SUV is and waited for him there.

He showed up a minute later. "Are you kidding me?" Hope asked him.

Alaric chuckled. "Am I under assault today?"

"You get to interrogate a tree nymph while Hope and I have to stay here?" Katelyn questioned.

"First of all, it's a dryad, not a nymph—"

"—Who cares?!—"

"—Second of all, I need you two to stay on the down-low. It's not safe for either of you - including Landon and Rafael — because the witch could still be out there and we aren't going to take any chances." Alaric said. "Katelyn, I want you to talk with Hope about everything. I want you both to put boundary spells around the school to keep any unwanted things out, mainly the witches."

"Emma can't do the boundary spells?" Hope asked with a raised eyebrow.

"She can supervise." Alaric replied. "But she's busy managing the school in my, I'm sure, unbearable absence." He smiled.

"You're enjoying this aren't you?" Katelyn asked him.

"I am."

"Mm." Hope hummed.

"There are grimoires in my office that I've marked with multiple boundary spells. Try not to kill anybody." He said then opened the door to his SUV and got in.

They both sighed and walked back into the school.

"Fuck me." Katelyn said as she walked through the assembly hall, reading through one of the grimoires.
