THIRD PERSON'S Point of View

Kasdeya has no chance of winning.

The stars are dwindling. The moon is scared. The night skies are silent. They'll watch her lose a hopeless battle against the earth, and there's nothing they can do about it.

She can smell the rancid odor from its monstrous body. Inangat ni Kasdeya ang kaniyang tingin dito. A smile touches her lips, disguising the fear thrumming against her chest so the monster won't sense it.

It groans and shifts, bones crackling like breaking stones. The bloodlust it radiates makes her skin crawl.

Kasdeya can feel her connection with the stars growing fainter, as if they're dying silently one by one.

But she knows she cannot fall back.

She can feel the overwhelming power flowing out of its cage.

Bright and shimmering air surround her fragile figure like it always did. She clings to their familiarity, but it feels thinner than thread in her consciousness.

Kasdeya steps forward, her breathing shallow and fast, as if she's racing against her own life.

"Give up, daughter of Urania. You do not have what it takes to kill me. Your stars cannot reach you here," A slow laugh vibrates the earth that is slowly enclosing over them.

"You are in my domain, and you have no choice but to die by my hands."

Huminga ng malalim si Kasdeya. She knows. It's either her or the monster. She can't let it claim victory.

The girl's smile becomes wider. "If destiny itself can't control me, even you have no say in my fate."

A painful shout erupts from it, almost as loud as the explosion of a volcano. She focuses her power, and in a short while, her fingertips light up the monster's chest.

"You should've never underestimated my thirst for survival."

Kinain ng liwanag ang paligid. Kasdeya moves forward, pressing against the monster's chest with force.

A sharp pain crosses Kasdeya's face, making her gag and hiss. Para nitong hinahati ang katawan niya. When she moves her hands further in the monster's flesh, the last string of weak connection she has with the stars finally snap.

She can feel its power being pulled away from her.

Her eyes widen as their brightness dulled, and she turns into nothing but a piece of mortal flesh in front of a starving beast.

"I warned you..."

Kasdeya feels it grip her languid arm with its enormous claws. "The stars can't help you as long as you're in my territory. Nothing can save you now."
