Chapter 15: Hellenes

"Where are they?" Tanong ko pagkalapit ng tatlo sa akin. Hinihingal sila, mukhang nakailang ikot pa sa buong campus bago ako balikan.

Napangiwi si Hailey, a Hellenes with short auburn hair tied in a high ponytail and the color of dark violet grapes in her eyes. A daughter of Dionysus, god of wine and madness. "Nowhere to be found. Nakatakas na yata, Paris."

I let out a sigh of exasperation. There's no way that we couldn't find them anymore. Saan na yun napunta? And more importantly, paano siya nakapasok?

It still bothers me how someone got in so easily. The alarm went off, yes, which means it wasn't easy and they still got detected, pero nakakapagtaka pa rin. The barrier is strong, the Alastorian Tribe created it themselves with the help of the Olympians.

Hindi dapat ito masisira ng ganun ganun lang. We should have been informed when someone attempted to, pero bakit hindi kami naalarma? The barrier is supposed to be invincible to a certain, almost impossible extent.

Unless...

"Reinn," Tawag ko sa babaeng tahimik lang sa gilid. She looks up at me, her black eyes makes me feel like I'm staring at the abyss. Nag-iwas ako ng tingin. "Gather intel from the other groups. I want to know if they found anything useful."

Her unnatural blue hair falls to gather around her face like a curtain of waterfall. "Sure."

Mabilis siyang naglakad paalis para hanapin ang iba. Pinanood ko siyang umaalis. This is good for her, to communicate with other students. Hindi masyadong nagsasalita si Reinn and I figure it's because she's still new to this.

Kakapasok lang niya sa Hellenes. Every demigod here takes an intellectual test to challenge their critical thinking and logic. Isa siya sa mga kaunting demigods na nakapasa at nakapasok sa military unit ng Acropolis.

Once she gets the hang of this, maybe give it a few months or a full year, she'll be more active within the group.

I am hoping for that outcome. Medyo aloof rin kasi si Reinn. I hope her distant personality is just the tip of the iceberg and she'll soon warm up to everyone. Curious rin ako sa kung anong klaseng tao ang mga anak ni Thanatos, the personification of death.

"Kuya." Tawag sa akin ng kambal ko nang makaalis na ang dalawa. I dismiss Hailey too to check if there are any damages other than the small riff we found on the barrier. Tingin namin ay doon nanggaling ang intruder.

Nginitian ko si London. "May problema ba?"

She shakes her head. "Sabi kasi ni Sir Adonis na magpunta sa office ng Commander pagtapos mag-rounds, 'di ba?" Paalala niya na ikinalaki ng mga mata ko. She notices my shock, before pouting when she realize that I almost forgot about it. "Sobrang makakalimutin mo. Bilin rin ni River na doon nalang kayo magkikita."

Oh, damn.

"Buti sinabi mo!" Nagmamadali kong sabi bago siya halikan sa noo. Agad naman siyang umangal. "I'll see you and the others at the dormitory. Pakisabi na rin sakanila kung nasaan ako. I need to go now."

Pagkatapos kong magpaalam sa kambal ko ay dumiretso na ako sa main building.

So many people are busy after the trespasser broke in. Walang mapalagay sa nangyari at ginagawa nila ang lahat para hanapin ang pumasok na intruder at ayusin ang nasirang barrier. No one could rest. After all, we're training to prepare ourselves for these situations.
