KASDEYA ARGYROS' Point of View

"So, Kasdeya. Ngayong gabi lang kita nakita. I don't think you were present yesterday?"

My eyes drift back to my half-eaten plate. The food is good, but eating in front of an Alastor makes my stomach churn.

Nagkatinginan kami ni River at Paris. Mukhang hindi alam ng lahat ang tungkol sa pag-kidnap nila sa akin, and the reason should be obvious. We silently agree not to mention anything about it.

"I just got here." Tanging sagot ko. I clear my throat before drinking water from the glass.

She does the same to Paris before moving to serve other tables. Dryads, or tree nymphs, serve beverages and food to the eating students and teachers.

Hindi ako mapakali. I'm sticking like a sore thumb and not in a good way.

No, I don't feel insecure next to them. Hindi rin ako naiilang sa mga tinginan ng tao, but they don't know me and I don't know them. Isa pa, demigods silang lahat. All of us may be the same, but I can't trust them.

Nephele, Paris, and River are treating me like a friend and I can't help but think of how naive they are.

Is it because they're too trusting? Or they have faith in their abilities to subdue me if I'm a threat?

It's probably him. They're laid back not because they're careless or strong, kundi dahil malakas ang tiwala nila kay Theon na kaya niya akong pigilan kung may gawin man akong mali. They put their faith on the right person then.

I'm nothing compared to an Alastorian. Their tribe has been around for ages, centuries before I was even born. Pinoprotektahan sila ng mga Olympians na kanilang sinasamba and during those years of worship, they have gained enough power to wipe cities from the map and make countries kneel to their command.

The only reason why they haven't is because they are the gods' little secret. Which means, no normal mortal can know about their existence. They're the type to work on the shadows and let things play out.

But if the Olympians let them, they could conquer the realms without lifting a finger. Just thinking about it makes my skin crawl.

And who knows what Theon Alastor can do? Anak siya ni Athena and he's a direct descendant of the tribe. I'm already wary of him when he's not even doing anything, what more if he actually decides to put that dull knife on my throat?

He did it once. He won't hesitate to do it again.

Is it too late for me to change tables?

"Psst." My train of thoughts disappear when I hear someone lean towards me.

He's grinning widely, his charming white teeth are mocking me. Bumaba ang tingin niya sa pagkain ko. "Uubusin mo 'yan?"

Tumingin ako sa upuang katabi niya. Nandoon si River sa dati niyang upuan. He really changed seats just to ask me that?
