KASDEYA ARGYROS' Point of View
I could still remember the last thing I heard before the world turned its lights off.
"Promise me, Kasdeya..." The whisper in the wind says, his voice as crisp as the last cut he created with his sword. "Please protect my brother from the legacy they tried to trap me in."
"You stopped one prophecy. You can also stop fabricated destinies."
I don't know where it came from and why I heard it... Maybe it's the guilt of it all, maybe it's something else entirely.
But it sounds like a final wish he made when he sacrificed himself to save us.
It doesn't feel right not to honor the last thing he said to me.
Protect him?
After everything, the voice is right. He will need the most protection out of everyone... in the end, he's the one who is greatly impacted by every consequences.
From the stone to the Legacy's death, all of it falls on his shoulders.
"Are you satisfied with your choices, demigod?"
She's playing with a chess board again, but she's not making any moves.
I gulp slowly before showing her my determination.
"I don't regret what I did. Gagawin ko iyonnang paulit ulit, kahit ano pang mangyari."
I will never regret breaking that stone.
She hums slowly before tapping the bottom of a chess piece on the board repeatedly. "I must warn you, your actions have consequences— Consequences bigger than Fate itself. Are you sure you can handle that?"
I can hear the smile in her voice.
"Sinasabi mo sa aking hindi ka nagsisi, pero anong gagawin mo kung lumala lang ang lahat dahil sayo?" She asks.
I bite my inner cheek. "Bakit ako maniniwala sa'yo? Are you a friend or an ally? I can never figure out which side you're on, but you're getting on my bad side with every appearance you make."
This young girl visiting me in my dreams always say cryptic words, ones that are too tangled up for me to decipher.
She huma again, this time in delight. The girl sounds amused under her breath.
"It depends. Our goals are aligned, but I know you and I will be enemies someday. Maghintay ka, Kasdeya. Makikilala mo rin ako. We'll fight each other in the grandest stage. But that's far off into the future."
Napasinghal ako. "Then you know what I have in mind. Nakapagdesisyon na ako. I know what I'll do next after this."
"Don't worry, I know," She answers. "You're going this far not just for yourself, huh. You know how to bend your plans to fit all of your objectives. You're making bold moves, but I'll let it pass. Your current actions doesn't hinder my plans..."
Binitawan niya ang chess piece. "But soon, I'll come and take everything. We'll become enemies. Wala man akong ginagawa ngayon, pero abangan mo, Kasdeya. I do not give up easily."
Kumunot ang aking noo. For someone as young as her, her tongue is sharp. Ang sarap putulin.
"Bakit hindi ka nalang magpakilala? Let's settle this now, little girl."
