KASDEYA ARGYROS' Point of View

"Everyone's quiet." I scoff amusingly when I notice the somber atmosphere radiating from everyone. Ngayon, parang namatayan silang lahat.

Sinulyapan ako ni Hurricane. "Because of the news. Why wouldn't they be?"

The typhoon is all over the news, I bet. And here I thought all of them are behind on human technology.

They gave everyone a notice, hoping for a bit of transparency with Acropolis' residents.

Kasalukuyan magkakasama at nakaupo sa isang pabilog na table ang Erebus dorm— minus Dwayne who's at the Imitheos Towers to train by himself.

The pavilion is full, but it feels deserted because no one's speaking loudly. Only whispers and silent sounds of tables and cutleries.

It's giving me the same feeling when you're in a quiet cathedral. The whispering voices sound like ghosts telling you stories of their past, the small background noise reminded me of every creak a door or a chandelier makes.

Sobrang tahimik nila.

"You look unbothered though. Hindi ba ikaw ang unang nakakita nung news dahil nagpunta ka ng office kanina?"

Nagkibit balikat lamang ako at hindi sumagot. I was shocked when I first saw it, but since it already settled in, I'm no longer bothered by what I've seen.

I've been through worse. Hindi na ito malaking balita sa akin. Monsters will always find a way to terrorize the hearts of humans and spread their influence over the realms. They're dramatic like that.

Alam ko namang malaki itong problema, but I just can't seem to find the motivation to care.

There's just no use thinking about it, that's none of my business anymore. That's just how I think. Who cares about the world when it only keeps pushing you to the edge of your sanity, anyway?

Everyone changes the topic right after.

After the food is served, we dig in. Pinakinggan ko lang ang usapan nina Hurricane. They're gossiping about some things I'm not familiar with.

"Are they crazy? Why are they only bringing two people with you eh sobrang delikado ng mission? Sana pinasama rin kami ni Abigail." I can hear Nephele's voice from here. Malapit lang ang table nila sa amin.

Mahinang natawa si Abigail. "Let him be, Nephele. If Theon wanted to, he can only bring himself and still get the job done."

"Won't it be easier to bring at least seven more people with you?"

"No. They'll only interfere with my work." I shiver at the stern voice. Definitely Theon's.

His voice is so cold that it gives you chills, yet it's also deep and husky too. Hindi ako sanay sa ganitong pakikitungo niya. I rarely see him with others which is why I don't see this robotic side of him. It's weirding me out a little.

May sumingit nanaman na panibagong boses. "Besides, I think this is mostly a test for him," River, the voice's owner, sighs. "Hindi papayag ang Alastorians na maraming kasama si Theon, since it's indirectly saying that he can't handle it himself."
