KASDEYA ARGYROS' Point of View
"I told you we should've killed her off!"
Everything is dimly lit with candles, but the only thing I can see are the legs of a wooden table and the feet of two people. I find myself sitting beneath it.
I climb up to our floor alone, with nothing but the company of silence and his words repeating in my mind.
The sudden realization stops me from recalling what happened last night. I remember nothing after climbing in my bed, wide awake, which means... I'm dreaming again.
A man sighs. "We can't. We were given orders not to touch her. Wala na tayong magagawa ngayon."
"Wala? Anong wala? Can't we just take her back?" The girl shouts desperately. "Dear Tartarus, I knew it! I knew it and no one listened to me! We have to do something about her now.
"Would you calm down?" Nagtaas na rin ng boses ang lalaki.
Nakita ko ang pag-atras ng isang paa. I guess that's the girl, nagulat siya sa biglaang pagsigaw ng kasama niya. The man takes a deep breath to level his voice again. "Look. No matter what that bitch does, we have the upper hand. Nasa atin pa rin ang Commander nila. As far as I know, we've got them at a tight rope."
"So what? We should just wait until suddenly, nahanap na nila tayo? You know that if we mess this up—"
"We won't. We'll never fail." The man says with finality. He steps forward, and judging by the sudden movement of the girl as her upper body moves closer to him, he pulled her by the shoulders.
I hug my knees closer to my chest, as if I'm scared to be noticed in my own figment of imagination.
"The others are already on the move. We promised her. We will win this—"
The girl stiffens too.
I take that as a chance to back away slowly. I'm aware that this is one of my weird dreams, and usually no one notices me when I'm inside them.
I make use of my invisibility to take a peek.
A boy and a girl. Their faces are too blurry for me to discern any real features.
It would be a different story if they suddenly see me, or they know I'm here.
They search every corner of the room. Pati ang kisame ay tiningnan ng lalaki.
"Someone's here... listening..." The girl whispers to herself.
The man beside her nods in agreement.
