Chapter 36: Infinite Circle

KASDEYA ARGYROS' Point of View

I used to see this man in front of me as an enemy. He's the thorn at the side of my body, the epitome of my horrors. Everything about him is the exact opposite of me.

That's why it's ironic that I want to keep him by my side... para magamit namin ang isa't isa.

Simula palang alam ko nang malaki siyang asset. He can be your worst enemy or your best ally. Theon is presented like a valuable piece in the puzzle. Everyone would want to be be him or be his ally.

I'm afraid to say that I'm not different from them. After his slight confession when we were in the orphanage, I just can't help myself but use it to my advantage. Hangga't kailangan ko siya, hindi ko papalampasin ang pagkakataon na gamitin iyon. He's one heck of a demigod and someone whom I could benefit from.

But of course, I'm using him with consent. Alam niya ang relasyon naming dalawa at kung paano ang agreement namin. Hindi ko kayang utuin ang isang katulad niya. He's smart enough to make my plan backfire on me, so I decided to use honesty.

I managed to bind him in an agreement, one that is signed with the name of the River Styx. Which means, hindi kami p'wedeng lumabag sa mga napagsunduan namin.

And he will serve as a tool, while I'm willingly letting him meddle with my business.

"We have a deal, Alastor. Don't you dare disappoint me." Sambit ko pagkatapos bumitaw sa kamay niya. Lumayo na rin ako mula sa lamesa.

I heard him scoff softly. "And I expect you to keep yours, Argyros. Or you'll see yourself beheaded when you betray me."

Hindi nalang ako kumibo. I'm aware that he can do that, kahit ngayon pa. Him sneaking up on me earlier is a proof of that.

Besides, Theon is not the kind of person who bluffs. If he says it, then he can absolutely do it. He's made out of promises and meaningful threats.

Tuluyan nang nagtapos ang usapan namin nang may tumunog sa ilalim ng desk niya. Our eyes simultaneously move to look at it. May hinugot siya mula sa unang cabinet nito at kinuha ang isang device.

Kumunot ang noo ko habang nakatingin dito. It's a circular device or a mechanism of some kind. Theon turns it slightly to stop the blinking blue light inside it.

Isang hologram screen ang nabuo sa itaas nito. Napaatras pa ako nang makita ang malaking ulo ni Paris. Dahil nasa harapan ako ni Theon ay baliktad ang screen sa aking paningin, but Paris' unnatural red hair is hard to forget.

"Theon! My favorite bro! Bilis mong sumagot ah!"

Napasinghal ako dahil sa natutuwang pagbati ni Paris sakaniya. Bungad na bungad ang mukha ng isang 'to. It's like looking at a zoomed in camera.

"What do you want?"

Paris frowns. "Eto naman oh. 'Di mo ba ako namimiss?" Nawala ang simangot nito at napalitan ng ngiti. "Pinapatawag ka ni Sir Adonis. May meeting daw kasama ang ilang Higher Ups."

Nag-angat nanaman ng tingin si Theon sa akin. I blink at him. Wala naman siyang sinasabi sa akin and his stare is vacant. Even with our silent language, he's not saying anything.

"Alright. I'll be there in a few minutes."

Paris nods. "Nga pala, pinapasama niya rin si Kasdeya sa meeting," Nagkatinginan ulit kami ni Theon. This time, we're both saying the same thing with our eyes.

Why am I involved?

Nagpatuloy lang si Paris. Hindi pa rin niya alam na nandito ako. "Wala akong contact ni Kas, eh. Can you get her for me? Sunduin mo sa dorm nila. Bili!"
