(Peeta POV)
Katniss looks beautiful. She looks at me smiling as we stare out at the fields of green. I sit down on a blanket that I brought along with a basket of food. We enjoy our lunch of cheese buns, champagne, and chocolate covered cherries. We talk about all the things that are happening with district 2 rebelling the new system and wanting the hunger games back. I try to keep her talking and thinking about happy things. That's when we come to the subject of what we brought with us on this journey away from district 12. "Crap! I forgot the pearl!" Katniss says frustrated, and sad. "Don't worry," I say assuring her, " I brought it." But she doesn't know that I made a few changes to the pearl that I gave her in our 2nd hunger games. I look up at the sun setting creating my favorite color of orange. "Your favorite color," she mumbles. "And yours," I say back to her while motioning to the green fields. I stand up and so does she ready to descend the hill back to the train cars. I reach into my pocket at she looks at me, her Seam gray eyes reflect the setting sun orange, making her eyes turn a pale bright blue. I pull of my pocket the pearl that is surrounded by small diamonds, that are attached to a silver ring. I get down in one knee, my heart rate jumps so I can hear every beat. "Katniss Everdeen, I have watched you grow up, I have watched you fight, and struggle, and I was almost always on your side. I will never let anything bad happen happen to you. I will always stay with you. I will never let anyone hurt you, and I will always protect you. I love you more than anything in the world. Your brave, serious, nice, strong, smart, beautiful, and funny, which are rare qualities to have. Your the person I would turn to for anything, and I love you for that. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So I will ask you this question. "Will you marry me?"
