Chapter 7

(Katniss POV)

I lay in bed with Peeta he's slowly drifting off my head buried in his chest. His strong arms hold me close to him protectively, I hear his breaths start to slow as he falls asleep. I think for a long time about something then I remember I'm supposed to meet them tomorrow in the Capitol. I must of jerked up a little, because Peeta senses my movement, and pulls me closer and tighter to him, as his eyes flicker awake. "What is it," he asks. "We're suppose to meet Haymich, Effie, and their new baby girl, Emily for her 2 birthday," I answer. Peeta quickly gets out of the bed, and sets out at t-shirt, a black leather jacket, and some jeans for himself, and a light blue dress for me.

He lays back down in the bed and questions me jokingly, "Anything else we have to remember?" I smile and shake my head, before quickly falling asleep on his chest. I wake up to an alarm at 6:00, and am so tired I barely move at the surprise of the noise. Peeta is used to it he wakes up at 5:00 to go down to the bakery. The alarm rings for about a minute before I realize there's no warmth next to me that's when I hear Peeta's footsteps outside the door he walks in turns off the alarm, and starts tickling me by me waist I giggle as he drags me out of the bed.

He carries me down to the dinner table and I eat a breakfast of a boston cream donut the sugars waking me up quickly. I run upstairs to through on my dress, and run outside to see the small hovercraft landing in victors village to take us to the Capitol. Peeta grabs me by the waist, picks me up, and gently sets me down in the hovercraft, before making the big leap off the ground into the hovercraft himself. We take our seats and prepare for the 4 hour flight to the Capitol.

We finally land in the Capitol after what felt like forever. My legs are all cramped up from sitting so long. Peeta, and I walk along the many streets of the Capitol before finding Haymich, and Effie's apartment. Peeta knocks on the door, and in just a few seconds Effie greets us. Her hair is a dark red, her natural hair color I barely recognize her except for her voice which stays it's peppy cheery way.

I look in to see Haymich smiling, I couldn't believe it smiling, Haymich, I think I've only seen that once in my life and it wasn't as happy of a smile now as he looked at his small daughter Emily, playing with a small stuffed rabbit. He looked up seeing us, and smiled more seeing Peeta and I together. I looked around to see Annie and her little son Fin in a baby carrier, Beetee, Flavius, Venia, and Octavia. I noticed that Johanna wasn't there but she must have had a therapy class today.

Just looking at everyone's eyes I knew everyone was happy. But then I got to Beetee's eyes who's eyes were with worry, but I don't know why.
