Chapter 25

(Katniss POV)
"... Will you marry me?" My heart skips a beat at his words. I cover my mouth trying to hold in my tears. "Yes!" He stands back up quickly his ocean blue eyes flood with relief and happiness. He slips the ring on my finger before grabbing my waist and and kissing me gently. "I love you," he smiles as he says this his joy makes my insides warm with a giddiness of my love for him. "And if I don't make it through this war, I want to go married to you." I start tearing up at his sweet words. We both look back to the setting sun my head leans against his chest, he holds my waist. The sun goes past a cloud and we pack up and descend down the hill, as I walk I can't stop looking at my left hand, the ring fitting perfectly into place. "I feel like screaming in excitement, but I think they'll hear me and freak out." I say motioning to the train car that contains Gale, Johanna, Finnick, Annie, and Finn. "I told Gale about it so I think everybody's expecting it," Peeta says smiling. So I start jumping around screaming excitedly, "I'M GETTING MARRIED TO PEETA MELLARK!!!" Peeta mumbles something while smiling, but I just barely catch it, "Katniss Mellark." I smile and run towards him, but he anticipates this and catches me, but the force still knocks is down. He smiles up at me laughing lightly from my excitement, I quiet his laughing by kissing him quickly. When I look 40 feet to my left I see the train car, 4  windows contain the 4 faces of all my friends. They all smile, and once they realize I've noticed them they all disappear behind the curtains of the windows. We stand back up and finish the walk back to the train car, and I know there won't be any nightmares tonight, just relaxing dreams of Peeta and I, happy and together.
