(Finnick POV)
I wake up, everyone's crowded in the small cabin, it's early in the morning, but most everyone is up. We get back in the field. This time Gale, Cressida, and Johanna decided to make this giant contraption to shield us from flying machines. The truck runs over about half the tents, before everyone gets really hungry. Cressida passes out apples, everyone eats, and shoots at anyone who flees the tents, the bodies we shot are still piled from yesterday. We've gotten a surprising amount of people tranquillized. I look through down the barrel of my gun ready to shoot any moving targets. The truck is running over the last couple of tents. 14 people run out of the last few tents, they take shots at us, but only a few of the team members get shot in the vest, they pull out the bullets, and put them in their pockets as a little souvenir of their service. "What do we do now," a tall thin woman asks. "We go in," Cressida says, her voice filled with rage, and determination. I wish I had my trident with me, I'm done with guns. We abandon the circle cage thing, we look up and see flying machines waiting for us we rush inside, guards immediately attack, but we shot them, there's about ten, so it's easy to overtake them, but we didn't get to tranquilize one before he shot someone. "JAKE," I hear a woman scream, she screams like everything she loved, lived for, was a lost. I look as she falls to the floor in front of him, screaming. It's hard to watch, I start tearing up, but swallow the tears back, this is war, all lives lost will be justified. The woman refuses to leave his side, her hands covered in blood from wiping Jake's hair out of his face, her hand grazing over the bullet hole. I look at her, her blonde hair falling over her face, I think of Annie, how she must've reacted when she was told I died. I kneel down next to her, and do what I wish I could've for Annie. "It's going to be ok, let's go fight for him," I say softening my voice and trying to give her confidence through my words. She stands up when I do and hugs me. I hug her back, she pulls away and grabs her gun, she closes Jake's eyes, "Let's go," she says determined. We walk split up and walk down different hallways, in my group is, Cressida, Johanna, Gale, Katniss, and Peeta. We walk into what appears to be a control room. Filled with over 300 people.
