Chapter 93

(Peeta POV)
I wake up with Katniss next to me, she faces away from me, her breaths steady and slow in sleep. I get up not waking her, I get in my bullet proof vest, and get my other armor on before going down to the hovercraft room. I see a few people are already here. A man hands me a machine gun, and a few knives which I store in pockets made for them. I take a seat and wait for everyone else to show up, once everyone does, Paylor shows up and gives everyone a Holo. Two people rush in late, Paylor hands them each a Holo, I look up to see their faces, Gale, and Finnick. They sit next to each other across from me. There's about 20 people on the hovercraft, 30% women, the rest men. I look around at the faces and people, only to realize I'm the shortest of the group, only a few of the women are shorter, if not the same height as me. Everyone is built up with strong muscle, I don't see one weak person on board, even Gale looks strong with a hole through his stomach. It's a miracle he's alive. I see a few familiar faces, I see Cressida, Johanna, and of course Finnick and Gale. I'm surprised to see Johanna here, I still haven't heard what happened while she was out in the wilderness for a few days. We sit for about an hour, some of the guys talk, but everyone's mostly silent. I think of all the thinks I wish I would have done differently if I die, like how I wish I could have seen my child, kissed Katniss one last time, had a picnic out in the meadow, and seen Katniss smile one last time. We arrive quickly, my adrenaline pumps, everyone gets up and forms a line in the center of the hovercraft. I look above my seat, and grab my tranquilizer bullets, a helmet, and 3 grenades, I get two boxes of ammunition, one I load into the gun, 300 bullets, the other is for when I run out, I stuff it in my pocket, I look around to see everyone doing the same as I did, once everyone is settles the door opens and everyone heads out. I'm last in line, but for some reason I hear foot steps behind me. The hovercraft takes off just as I look behind me to see the person I wish to see the least here. Katniss.
