(Katniss POV)
Once I dropped off the fur balls, I turned toward the hospital. I'm about to open the door to Gale's room when a familiar voice questions, "Katniss?" I flip around to see my mother. My eyes start to burn with tears, I relieve the pain by letting the tears flow. The corners of my mouth curl into a smile. I hug my mother tightly. I can tell by her breathing that she's crying as well. It's been forever since I've seen her. "I missed you," I say, my voice cracks from my crying which immediately annoys me. Ever since the last war anything that I do that shows weakness angers me. "I missed you too," she says with a soothing voice. After a long pause she speaks again, "A lot has happened lately." "I heard a lot of people were killed before Paylor filtered the district," I say. "A few hours before they caught the last of the terrorists they had hung a manakin type thing, dressed it in a white suit, put a white rose in his pocket, and painted blood dripping from the corners of his mouth. Across the stomach written in blood from one of their victims was Snow." My eyes widen when I hear his name. I turnaround and open the door to Gale's room, leaving an awkward silence between us. Gale's in his hospital bed, he's got a breathing tube on him, and about 10 bags of fluid hooked up to him, the morphine bag is only 1/4 of the way full, considering how long he's been here, that's a lot of morphine, they'll probably cut him off quickly. I sit down in one of the chairs, and my mother does the same. The television on the wall flickers on, my face goes pale when I see who it is. President Snow.
