Rose on Fire

Chapter 18

(Johanna POV)
I'm in the Capitol, it's one of my last therapy sessions, and I know something weird is going on. There's peacekeepers guarding every door in the hospital. I look up at the digital clock glowing green, 5:57 it reads. It's getting dark. One of the fluorescent lights flickers, it's 5:58. My therapist it's wrapping up telling me this session went well. All she asks me is random questions, how are you doing, what do you think of throughout the day, what are your dreams. 5:59. One minute before I go home. "From what I've heard this session I think your good to go," she says,"I think your ready to move out of the Capitol, and go back home." "Okay," I say, "thank you." "Good bye Johanna," she cheerily says. 6:00. I hear a loud noise just outside the door. Gun shot. The door opens the Peacekeeper outside runs inside the room, gun in hand. He shoots my  therapist, the bullet hits the heart killing her instantly, good I think, she was weak, and if he had shot her in the arm, leg, or torso, and it didn't kill her instantly she would have died a painful death. Luckily for me I'm already by the door, he's just in front of me. I have just enough time to run out of the room, and turn the corner, I see a fire extinguisher, and grab it just as he comes out of the room. I hit him hard on the head with the fire extinguisher, he drops to the floor, unconscious. I grab the gun, I see 5 bullets left. There's got to be 150 peacekeepers here. I run out of the hospital, as I get to the door I see one peacekeeper. I shoot her shoulder. I see a man standing 10 feet away from me just as I get though the door. Gale. Behind him is Annie, and Fin in an army jeep. He helps me get in, and we drive off, running right over the fence.
