Chapter 87

(Katniss POV)
I wake up laying with my head on Peeta's chest. We fell asleep looking at the paintings on the ceiling. I carefully get up and go searching through the rooms, a few are locked, but most of them are opened. I don't spend much time in each room, but I do a quick sweep looking for anything that looks interesting, or looks important. I find a locket that his engraved inside a small message that says, "Whomever carries this shall bring mellifluous songs of hope to their followers." I put the locket on and look at the mockingbird on the face of the locket. I continue on and come to the last room I've left unchecked. I look in and see a fairly large room, across the wall is a huge map of the world with Panem on it, and a few other pieces of land. We are only a small piece compared to the rest, I look at what's written over the pieces of land, I see one that says, 'China Population: 2 billion. I look at the rest of the world counting up the populations of at most 100 countries. 11 billion people. All my life I thought Panem was the only piece of land, and nowhere else was inhabited. Panem has a population of 150 million. We were never alone.
