Rose on Fire

Chapter 52

(Finnick POV)
I look at the screen with Annie on it the screen glitches I can see all the animated lines that outline the animation of her face together. A smirk crawls over my face, a sense of relief spreads through my muscles. Decide to take my advantage as the shocked peacekeepers stare at the glitching screen. I see a small green light appear at the top of the screen. I quickly whip around  with a new found energy and pretty much snatch the knife out one of the peacekeepers's hands I kick him to the ground while forcing the blade of the knife into the other peacekeeper. My survival senses kick in, the peacekeeper lets go of the whip due to the pain of the knife. I hit the side of the peacekeeper's head he falls to the floor unconscious. I spin around seeing the other peacekeeper disappear through the door. I turn back to the still glitching screen I see another face appear on it. I see president Paylor appear on the screen, "Well that looked like quite a battle," she says with a fake slight laugh, trying to lighten the mood. I take a fake smile to go along with it. "We've located this hovercraft and your friends, and we are sending help try your hardest to keep all peacekeepers out of that room I'll contact you when we get there then I'll explain the details of this war," she says assuring my safety. The screen goes black, I quickly run to the unconscious peacekeeper, immediately grabbing the electric whip, I search his body finding a knife and a spray that kills you when your skin absorbs it. I pick up the towel seeing it's got quite a bit of blood on it. I try to hold pressure to the cut along the right side of my back a lot of blood slowly draining from it. I turn back to the peacekeeper I get curious and decide to take their helmet off to see if I know them. I look at the man's face something seems a little familiar about him, but not much. I wait for what feels like an eternity, not one peacekeeper dares to come into the room, the black screen quickly flashes to president Paylor. "Okay, Finnick their here, you're going to hear 6 knocks at the door when their there so do not attack," she says. I wait about 10 minutes then I hear the knock. Cressida and Castor enter the room, Castor has a small camera attached to his head. Cressida has a machine gun in her hand watching the door as she throws me a pistol, I follow Cressida out of the room Castor following me. We run down a hallway, then climb a rope ladder into the other hovercraft. The dark of night filling my eyes the wind blowing a relaxing emotion on me. Once we get into the hovercraft I collapse on one of the benches in pain and tired. My muscles relax the adrenaline goes away leaving me to feel the pain. It starts to be hard to breath every muscle tired. I hear people talking and someone yelling but I can't make out what their saying, it sounds like I'm underwater, the only thing I can hear is the slow steady beats of my heart. My vision starts to blur I know I've lost a lot of blood but not enough to kill me. I feel someone put an oxygen mask on me, letting some of my muscles relax. I feel someone turn me over they move me so I'm lying on my stomach, with my head over the side of the bench. I feel the morphine start to kick in taking away the pain. I close my eyes letting sleep take over. Soon I will see my precious family, and friends.
