When moonlight dawns upon those who fall unto slumber, the moonlight becomes the guiding light for those who throw themselves into the dangers of the night.

Silence. It had exactly been silent around the clan residence for a full hour as I had calculated it to be. I left behind a note only for Atsuko's eyes to see - a little parting gift with no tell tales of to where I was headed. Securing my cryo vision in my obi's holster, I lightly yet swiftly headed out to the meeting place. The snow overnight would cover the tracks I'd left behind from tonight so I paid no mind as I rushed to the cherry plum tree.

Raising myself off the gates with ease, I soon was met with the boy I had previously conspired this escape with. We shared not a word, and instead exchanged glances. Any sound we would make would cause us our demise.

Ah yes, it does feel like as if we were spies. We were racing through the night, hiding in the shadows - away from plain sight. Sooner we knew, we had already escaped the main city's gates.

Yet that was just the tip of the iceberg: the real danger that posed us was the mountains.

It was a slippery slope, and we couldn't dash as much as we had wanted to. We would have to spend an estimated four days if we were to tread this path towards Liyue, and board a boat to get ourselves to Liyue's central dock, then take a full week of a ferry ride onward to Snezhnaya should our resources be able to cover it all.

Slipping out of my thoughts, I realized we had come to a halt. I looked over to the boy beside me who then replied by pointing up. So, we ended up climbing trees by his orders.

"Aren't you cold at all?" My companion asked me as we temporarily nested ourselves on tree branches.

I shook my head simply, not wanting to utter a word. He hummed in response, and rubbed his palms for some friction in order to obtain warmth. This past few minutes we spent trekking the snowy mountain, another realization hit me and it was the fact that I was not bothered by the chilly breeze or the numbing sensation from the cold.

"Alright, we'll go around this path instead of climbing further. We'll most likely encounter a guard or two, but it shouldn't be hard for us to deal with them." Eiji stated, rolling up the map he had back into its former shape and into his utility bag.

A few more moments, and he just dropped to the snow-covered ground - obviously letting me know that I had to follow. And so, we treaded the path around which led us to a secret passage marked by other escapees who purposely sacrificed for this map in our hands.

Soon as we moved the rocks that covered the passage, we quickly made our way in. Eiji lit out a fire on a dusty old piece of wood that hung onto the wall - it seems like it had been ages since this makeshift torch was made. Nonetheless, it could still serve its purpose so I proceeded covering the passage entrance as much as I could before I followed Eiji's back.
