Cigno Fanciulla Act II: Notte di Luna
《 Interlude - Guardian Yaksha 》

"Where Fenella stumbles the lands of the Adepti, and accidentally meddles in with the affairs of a certain Guardian Yaksha."

Dainty white petals of the Qingxin flower sway in the wind as a gentle breeze passes by. Sitting on top of a mountain near Qingxu Pool was the Twelfth Fatui Harbinger, who had just finished two-day's worth of work. It was rather peaceful during her break - too peaceful for her liking.

Should she perhaps go for a stroll to see whether there had been people in need of help? After all, she was in need of further strengthening her relations with the people of Liyue. Yes, it was of a temporary post before claiming the gnosis at Inazuma, but she was a candidate to replace Childe due to his slip-up.

Then again, she had another option. Given the long period of time she spent away from the nation, she could try and pull some strings to meet an old friend.

After all, what better ways of wasting time was there compared to bothering an old friend to keep you company?

Heaving a happy sigh, she stood up and dusted off the dirt from her skirt. Then, she stretched her arms to ease up her muscles - to give an extra push of liveliness into her system. Soon as she felt ready to go, she jumped off the mountain.

These were such times that she let herself feel the exhilarating moments of being on the edge of excitement - a certain thrill she had that is much alike to the thirst for battle of a certain ginger head man. These were only some of the rarest events that the calm, composed, and calculating Lady Fenella becomes a reckless little soul.

She loved the feeling of the wind pushing against her tiny frame. To her, it was liberating - the act of free-falling in mid air. This side to her was the very reason she gained a certain fellow who guarded the lands of Liyue.

"Adeptus Xiao." She whispered as she closed her eyes.

The name she uttered worked like a magic spell, for in the next moment that the breeze passed by her - a pair of strong and reliable arms had been secured around her tiny frame, as if it were summoned by her call.

Her body was then adjusted to bridal carry, letting her secure her arms around the person's neck. In the next second, they spoke in a calm yet distant tone - "Hold tight, mortal."

Blink. Flashes of green clouded her vision, while the wind whipped to her face and whole being. Breathe. The fresh morning dew of the plains greet her as the drifted into the air.

Though soon enough, the pace dropped and the breeze became kinder - no longer did it pass her through. That was when she knew they had arrived at their destination. Slowly, yet surely, the sturdy arms let her out of its arms, and out to stand on the ground for her own.

Twirling around gracefully, unwinding from the person's grasp, the swan maiden joined her hands with the person into a dance with the wind. She hummed a tune as they twisted and turned to the music of nature. It was peaceful.

"What are you up to this time, mortal?" The other person asked, his tone sounding as if had been expectant of her mischievous schemes.

A smile graces upon her lips, and she replies with locking both of their gazes which shared the same hue of sunshine, "Visiting and old friend. It's been seven years, Xiao."

The adeptus sighs at her response. He could remember the past seven years as if it happened a few days ago. He knew of her affiliation with the Fatui, yet for the reason he maintained a friendship with her was caused by an accidental encounter.
