When had been the last time I had experienced the tongue-freezing cold of Snezhnaya? Frankly it had been eight years ago. Many of the establishments have changed, and the places seem to have gone under drastic developments.

"I free of your chains as from this day onward, you will be known as Fenella. A maiden of the swans, serving under my forces as she waltzes through the battlefield - dancing to the call of battle."

I could still vividly recall the events of my ascension in ranks as a notable asset within the Fatui. It was the day I've been graced with a new name; it was a day that marked a new chapter in my life. Her majesty, the Tsaritsa, was most proud at who I've become at that moment.

She was so proud she called for an audience in private.

People may have known her to have no compassion left for her people, or her nation of Snezhnaya as it continued to suffer from the frost and timely snowstorms. Yet what was in common of the people who told such tales? They were not from here, and they never were ones to have met her Highness in the flesh.

For if they had, then they would know how much love she had for her people that it pained her to have them live in such conditions. They were not aware that the frost is what kept her strength and power flourishing, as well as protected her people away from the opportunists of other nations.

Her actions were a collective of shared duty, and utmost care. In fact, she had been most benevolent that she took misfits like me in her care. She took pity on the kindred souls, and gave them the power of frost to wield against danger and to shield themselves from harm.

That is simply the reason why I've devoted my service onto her grace; it is what saved me from my wretched birth place. Truthfully as so, I was ready to discard all of my attachments with the Tomoe Clan along with being granted a new name. Yet it was her Majesty's words that led me to treasure and to value what I had been through, no matter how much it had caused me pain and ruin.

"If you were to eradicate the traces of your origins, would you be who you are now? Would you have the strength or the tenacity to make your escape - the power to protect your beloved during the night of chase?"

I shook my head, which was hung down low. She made me realize what foolish of a decision I was supposed to make. Who was I to deny the very essence of what shaped me into the warrior I am?
