Cigno Fanciulla Act I: Sinfonia Sparza
《Interlude - Northland Bank》

"Where Eiji and Yukiko stop over at Liyue to rest and regain strength for their trip to Snezhnaya, but first they had to introduce themselves to the organization."

Despite the fact that Liyue and Inazuma were neighbouring nations, this was the first time we've ever set foot on the land of contracts and mora. True to its name, it was a flourishing nation with a joyful warmth in the atmosphere - mixing in with the rich aroma of spices that spread out in the air.

There were plenty of shops to explore, several restaurants to enjoy, and everything new was a breathe of fresh air to intake in one's system.

But first, we had to pay a visit to Northland Bank. This was an establishment of Snezhnaya, serving a second purpose of being the base of Fatui activity. And it was at this time, where I would meet one of the Fatui Harbingers that Eiji has told me about during our trip from Inazuma to Liyue.

As we reach the doors, my fellow Inazuman halted me in my tracks to remind me, "Pay your respects, and be polite. You weren't originally supposed to be here so they will naturally be wary of your presence. Got it?" He then searched my eyes for confirmation.

"Got it." I nodded and followed suit as he entered the establishment.

A collection of footsteps were the first thing I heard upon setting foot in Northland Bank's premises. There I saw people donning masks, keeping their identities in secrecy - which spoke volumes of how big this organization must be.

The next thing I took notice of was how Eiji's personality did a complete turn, as now he donned one that screamed the aura of a dignified warrior. This air to him only got stronger when we came upon a male who had a thicker presence that reeked of brawns and a greater sense of maturity surrounding him as well.

He had henchmen seeming to protect him so I glanced at Eiji, studying his actions keenly.

"I am Eiji Ahane of Inazuma, and this is my companion whom proved herself worthy to our cause." He motioned over to my position, which gave me the message he had sent.

I bowed my head, and greeted, "Yukiko Tomoe of Inazuma. A pleasure to meet you, great sir."

"Sir?" His voice came out low, yet clear.

Had I made a mistake of using the wrong honorifics? Or did I fall short of my politness? These thoughts ran through my head, slowly eating my mind away by filling it in with anxiety. However, before I had time to ask for forgiveness, the presences in front of us had burst into a hearty fill of laughter.

It baffled me. Had there been anything to laugh at from my greeting?

As if reading my mind, the person opened his mouth to say, "What is with all this formality? I heard Inazumans were quite traditionally polite and courteous, but this is too much. It feels weird to have kids talking like grown ups! Come on, call me Capitano instead." The man who called himself Capitano stood proud and tall, face plastered with a cheeky grin on his face displaying perfectly white teeth.

Still somewhat confused with this manner of conduct, I found it best to follow through his wishes. I gave a slight nod, and said, "Ah yes, my apologies. I shall treat you as an equal then, Capitano."

Silence, yet again. I looked over to Eiji, who looked absolutely horrified. Then I shifted my gaze over the others who halted in their duties, all of them had dirty looks sent my way. I felt small, and impudent at the moment, yet I lifted my head to see Capitano with a pleased expression on his face.

He put a hand on my shoulder carefully, and told me, "You.. are such a fun personality!" A thunderous laugh roars over the place, ridding of the silence.

The man then turned to Eiji, giving him a thumb's up, as he praised him, "Good job bringing this kiddo over here. The Rooster and the Jester would surely love to take her in. I mean, if they won't - then I'll personally take her under my wing. How's that sound kiddo?" He suddenly shifted his attention on me, his energy resembling that of a proud child who've met a new playmate.

I sought confirmation from Eiji, watching as his expression softens down before sighing. That face seemed to have told me that I should just go with it since there was not much of a better option.

"It is very much appreciated, Capitano." I responded, which led the buff man to rejoice.

"Since that's settled, it's time to assist both of you to a quarters so that you could rest up well. Iva show them to their chambers and I shall go ahead and check our troops in Qinxiu Pool." He called out to a woman who sported a purple uniform.

She had short green hair, striking purple blooms for irises, and a petite stature doused with seduction. She smiled gleefully to Capitano, then approached Eiji and I. Being a bit taller than both of us, she bent forward - peering unto our faces a bit closer than comfort.

Sensing our discomfort, she fell back quickly as she held a hand to her mouth, "Ah forgive me! My eyesight is quite bad. Anyways, I'll show you to your rooms. Follow me!"

And so we did, we ended up sleeping in different rooms. We weren't given enough time to go around the harbor as we might be found by some troops sent out by the Imperial Army. That is precisely why we stayed in our quarters until the morning of when we could depart.
