~Flashback Chapter~
There was absolutely nothing. No evidence. No fingerprints, no DNA, no shoe prints - nothing at all. And this was the second time there was absolutely nothing. Y/N wasn't sure what to think of this. Tsukauchi had called her and Takamoto in to help deal with the whole thing, but neither of them had any idea what to make of it. Except patrolling the area throughout the next few weeks, of course, since the killer was likely from around here somewhere.
The thing was that everyone Y/N knew lived around here. Everyone. Except maybe some of her family. But this neighbourhood... everyone lived here. Most people she had gone to school with, that was. It was simply because this was the place where a lot of crimes happened, so for young heroes just starting out... it was profitable to live here. It was very profitable. (Plus, the rent was super cheap and everyone lived here, so it was the logical choice for people with no money and high hopes).
But that just made it so much more likely that whoever killed that woman was someone... someone she might know. Y/N shuddered at the thought. No one else seemed to think the same thing, but Y/N couldn't stop her brain from going over everyone she knew and where they had been last night. She herself was safe and so was Shouta - the two of them had been together.
Hizashi was doing his radio show all throughout the night, so he was good, too. Y/N didn't know what Nemuri had been doing... or any of the other people she had gone to school with. Or Takamoto. But it couldn't be Takamoto, she was pretty sure that he was busy all night with paperwork. Anyway, he wasn't someone who could kill people. He didn't even like using violence when they were fighting villains.
Y/N glanced over at him, as they were waiting for the police to interrogate them. It was Takamoto who had found the corpse after all, so obviously they had a few questions. Y/N doubted that it would take a long time, but she could never be sure. Anyway, she didn't have anything to hide, right?
"Hey, uhm..." Takamoto muttered quietly. Y/N turned around to him. He looked unusually nervous.
"What's up?" she wanted to know.
"Could you... could you give me an alibi? For last night?" he replied. Y/N raised her eyebrows.
"Why? You've been in the office all night, haven't you?" she asked. Takamoto rubbed the back of his head and nodded.
"Yeah, but... I was alone."
"Yeah, but there are cameras, aren't there? I mean, they show when you went inside and when you went out of the office to go home. I don't see how that might be a- oh, wait." she muttered.
