Y/N wasn't sure what to expect when she woke up again

Y/N wasn't sure what to expect when she woke up again. She knew that she'd probably be in the hospital. She remembered what had happened, before she had collapsed due to using her Quirk too much. She knew that Shouta had been there, that she had managed to knock out Takamoto. But after that everything went black and all she could go by was the memory of her waking up in the hospital the last time this happened. Alone. Confused. In pain, not sure what was happening.

Y/N kept her eyes closed for that reason alone, because she didn't want to wake up on her own, not knowing what was going to happen to her next, not knowing where she was, what was happening... but she could feel the light falling into the room and she opened her eyes almost instinctively.

The light was blinding at first and Y/N groaned quietly, squeezing her eyes shut quickly, before blinking and opening them again slowly, trying to adjust to the amount of brightness. How long had she been out? Had they been able to get Takamoto? And what about the evidence?

That was the one thing she was worried about... that she had been going through all this and then there wouldn't even be anything to show for it. But it had to be with the police, right? God, she just hoped everything went well with this... it would be such a pain if she were to find out they couldn't use any of this in court. If Takamoto got a light sentence again...

Y/N groaned again and slowly turned her head, her eyes wandering through the room, until she recognized the dark slumped up shape sitting in one of the chairs, arms crossed and his head leaning back, probably asleep. Y/N smiled a little, but her mind was rioting. She felt every emotion at once, seeing Shouta sitting there, just waiting for her to wake up. It almost felt like too much.

"Shou..." she muttered, her voice hoarse and barely louder than a whisper, but it caused him to stir and look around in slight confusion at first, before sitting up and looking at her, the corners of his mouth twitching upwards, as he stood up and stepped closer to the bed, sitting next to her and taking her hand into his.

"You're awake..." he said quietly. Y/N sat up a little and felt a familiar pain in her thighs. Right. The cuts were back and they were probably worse than last time. Takamoto really hadn't gone easy on her and that knife was rather blunt, if she was being honest. It hurt like hell.

"What are you doing here, Shou?" Y/N asked, still feeling tired even after waking up. She was seeing a few weird shadows out of the corners of her eyes. So this was happening again? Fucking great. She decided not to tell Shouta anything about it. He seemed to be worrying just enough for now.

"What do you mean?" he wanted to know.

"Why are you here? Did you... did you actually wait for me to wake up?"
