"This is pretty scary, to be honest." Y/N said to Shouta, tugging at her skirt and trying to fix her hair somehow. She was smiling nervously at him, trying to somehow keep it together. Shouta was more annoyed than nervous. He hated press conferences and he hated having to go to them, but Tsukauchi hadn't given him a choice. They all had to show up for the press conference.

Shouta sighed. Y/N was nervous, of course. They'd be announcing that she would get her hero license back, which was obviously a pretty big deal for her. Shouta couldn't even imagine how nervous she had to be, specifically when it came to how the public would react to those news.

He couldn't even guess as to how people might react. It could really go either way - Shouta figured most people would still be mad about her lying to everyone the first time around. But maybe her helping to get Takamoto convicted this time would make up for it somehow. Who knew. The public could be fickle with things like that, which was why Shouta tried to avoid them as much as he could. They could turn at heroes any second and ruin them with something small.

"Don't worry. You'll be fine." Shouta tried to reassure her. It would have probably been more believable if he had believed it himself, but he knew how people worked. They might take her back with open arms, they might be skeptical or they might just outright hate her. He hoped that Y/N would be fine, but there was no way to know for sure. Especially considering the circumstances.

"Okay... Okay... do I look okay? I haven't worn these clothes in ages..." she muttered with another nervous chuckle. Shouta pretended to look at her, but it wasn't even necessary, because he hadn't been able to take his eyes off of her all evening. She looked fucking gorgeous. She had looked gorgeous the first time he had seen her in those clothes and it was almost like she was looking better and better every time he saw her in them. She really needed to calm it with looking so damn good all the time.

"You look perfectly fine. Way too fine, actually." Shouta told her with a smirk. Y/N grinned and let out a shaky breath.

"Well, that's good at least. If everything goes to shit now, at least you'll still want me." she snickered.

"It'll work out somehow. Don't worry. No matter what happens right now, we'll figure something out." Shouta told her, before giving her a slight push towards the stage where Tsukauchi was already waiting for them impatiently. He wanted to get this whole thing over with as quickly as possible, too, especially because it had been such a long and disturbing case.

"Do we have to go out there already?" Y/N asked, as she slowly dragged herself up the stairs and out to the little podium.

"It seems so." Shouta muttered under his breath as he followed her. The lights from the camera flashes were as blinding as always. Shouta really hated them. He hated them so much.
