Chapter 33: Buhangin

Nash stopped in front of an elite restaurant, I looked at him in surprise, “Bakit mo ako dinala dito?” nagtatakang tanong ko sa kanya.

“I knew it, you didn’t remember” nakangisi niyang sabi, lalo tuloy akong naguluhan, ano ang hindi ko naalala?

Maya-maya ay may lumapit sa amin na lalaki tapos ibinigay ni Nash ‘yung susi ng kotse niya ‘dun sa lalaki, and then he lead me inside the restaurant.

I was surprised becasue there weren’t anybody else around, as in kami lang talaga ‘yung nasa loob, and to think na elite restaurant ‘to, e’di ibig sabihin, sikat siya, ibig sabihin, dapat maraming tao dito, pero bakit wala?

I looked at Nash when we were seated at a table for two, “Did you do this?” tanong ko sa kanya and he nodded, “Don’t you like it, Sprinkle?” tanong niya sa’kin nang naka-puppy eyes.

“No” I answered, he looked sad but I smiled, “I love it!” sabi ko na nakapagpa-ngiti sa kanya, “Pero bakit? Anong meron?” tanong ko sa kanya.

He smiled as he stood from his seat and to my surprise, he went on the stage, the waiter gave him a mic.

He cleared his throat first before he started talking, “I just want everyone in the world to know that the woman in front of me, Shaina Crystal Angeles Aragon, is my fiancee, the woman I will forever stay with till the day I die” he said, teka. Anong meron? Anong everyone in the world eh kami lang dalawa at ang mga staff ng restaurant ang nandito?

“To anyone who is going to try to steal her away, I hate to break it to you but she is and always mine, it’s useless to even try, because she is mine, you hear that?” nakangisi niyang sabi, he looked at me and smiled warmly.

“I love her and I want everyone in the world to know” sabi niya.

And then he smiled widely as he went off the stage, a waiter handed him a bouquet and he walked towards me to give it, I willingly accepted it, it was a bouquet of my favorite flowers.

Maya-maya ay bigla bumukas ang LED TV ng restaurant, guess what was on every channel? ‘Yung nagsasalitang si Nash! OH MY GOD. S-Seryoso ‘yon?!

I looked at him, and I was sure I was blushing, he smiled at me, “I love you” he said and he walked to me and hugged me, “You didn’t remember because of everything that’s happening but it’s okay, babe. I understand, happy 2nd monthsary” nakangiti niyang sabi and I suddenly felt the urge to cry. I can’t believe I forgot the date..

He suddenly kneeled before me and with a smile on his face, he asked, “Will you marry me?” tanong niya, nasapo ko ang bibig ko, my tears started falling down.

I couldn’t find the words so I just nodded, he got up and hugged me, “I know we’re engaged and all.. but I just wanted to give you a proper proposal” sabi niya and I cried even more, this is the sweetest thing ever. I love him so much, hindi ko akalaing gagawin niya ‘to para sa’kin.

“I’m sorry I forgot” I said, “It’s okay, Sprinkle, I’ll always understand, basta next time ah, ‘wag mo nang kalimutan” nakangiti niyang sabi and I nodded in agreement, “Promise” sabi ko.

“Yay! O sige na Sprinkle, kain na tayo” sabi niya, but before he went back to his chair, he took out his handkerchief and wiped my tears away, “I know you’re happy but please don’t cry, it still breaks my heart” sabi niya and I smiled.

“That’s better!” sabi niya tapos bumalik na siya sa upuan niya, “Sir, here are your orders” sabi ng waiter nang lumapit sa’min na may dalang pagkain, isa-isa niyang nilapag ang mga ito.
